By way less hp, you mean 7-8awhp yes.

What happened is they came in and did 3 baseline pulls. Then they swapped the cross-over pipe and did 3 more pulls. The results were lower power numbers.
Why? The wastegate had an advantage now. By increasing the exhaust size the wastegate was being allowed to open later, and build less boost (approx 1 psi less). The car did end up making 203awhp if I remember correctly. If you want more information on how an wrx wastegate setup works, I would suggest Nasoic or google.

In the end the hp per psi was 14.0hp per psi before, after it was 14.5hp per psi. Granted that is gorilla math, but anyone that has a clue when it comes to performance will tell you that swapping out exhaust components post turbo for a larger item will gain you horsepower.

I then informed the crew that they might want to re-test on another vehicle where they have full control over the boost. This vehicle had a mail-order tune on it, and I suggested something that they were tuning that possibly had a MBC, or maybe next-time tighten down the wastegate arm.

Nice pot stirring but I would suggest to keep the bull**** to tcstangs.

I would fully expect this product to gain power. Once they come back with a different test vehicle, it should prove it.

    I had that same thought.

It is unfortunate that they weren't able to test properly to get some definitive answers. Still, I am glad the story came out now. Imagine if LSE hadn't posted until after a retest with another vehicle. The rumors would *really* be flying.

You seem to have it out for somebody based off of some of your criticisms/posts.

    What's your story?

    Seriously.

i can't comment on the numbers at all, I was there, I just thought the sound of that rex hitting 6000rpm was heavenly. Plus I had my daughter there who just plain thought the whole ordeal was cool.

John was the guy driving the car on the dyno, Ryan was the "bigger guy" and the "smaller guy" was Chris.
