I wanted to go out and look at the one you got but I couldn't get the time off work to go so I luckily found an 04 XT with low miles in Savage.
Nice! Congrats on your Forester find. Low miles would have been nice but with my budget I was stuck looking at 100k+(post 100k maintenance cars). Just couldn't pass up an '06 in my price range. Especially when all dressed up.
Yeah great price for a car that was very well maintained. Deffinetly catches your eye when you see it too.
That's a beautiful Foz! Dig it!! Not that I mean to toot my own horn, but for those who love fozzies and haven't seen my build thread, here ya go: http://www.mnsubaru.com/threads/project-dark-fury.38320/ Can't wait to see your ride out and about!
Rear hitch brace installed! Rusty bolt extraction was as fun as it always is but nothing a bit of muscle, air tools, and ropes tied to wrenches can't handle. Rear now feels much more planted and sure, completely confidence inspiring. Would love to find me an sti rear swaybar/monts to go along with this mod. New exhaust to come with much less rumbelz as a result But i can tow my boat and am liking the idea of a hitch mounted bike rack.
Debadged finally. Looks much betta. Need to come up with an all weather fix for the stinkin holes that were behind the "Forester" badge but i'll figure out something. A good claybaring and it should clean up nicely.
Yellers meet Foz, Foz meet Yellers. Yellers washed and ready for mounting. Well they got washed after the photo was taken
2- front diff changes, 2- rear diff changes, 1- oil change, 1- front lip removed and Yellers installed. Twas a productive night. Moar betta photo shoot to come.
Looks great with the yellers! I liked them on the gray a little bit moar...but looks great none the less!
Thanks guys. I also think they looked a little better on the gray as well, but the combo certainly works. Bouncing round the idea of selling both my sets of wheels for some all season 18" rpf1's in gold or bronze. Hmmmmm
The 5 spokes are drilled for 5x100 only. I also like the 5 spokes, they grew on me very quickly as did the silver color which surprised me. But i've always wanted a set of rpf1's. We'll see what happens I guess, i'll let you know if I decide to change things up.
I fully support the idea of these rpf1's. Do yourself a favor though and keep one set of winter wheels/tires and pick up some sticky summer tires for the rpr1's
Nope, just a lil 1-1/4" hitch. Foz isn't rated for much more so no need to go yuge. Pulls the boat just fine. The bronze started to chip so they needed a repaint and Caterpillar Yeller just felt right. They'll be getting a color change come spring if that makes you feel better
I wish Curt still made a 2" receiver for the Forester. Where am I supposed to put my 2" d-ring hitch?! I can't bring myself to buy one of the 1 1/4" ones made for an ATV and possibly kill someone
A buddy of mine Savage cut his hitch mount apart and welded in a 2in receiver. He uses it responsibly, but at least he can maneuver his sled trailer his yard without getting the van out.
I had a shop in Burnsville cut out the 1.25" receiver and swap in a 2" one...cost was like $20. Rattle canned it all with Rustoleum and moved on.
Grocery getter ... I just went and picked up some groceries today myself!.. in my girlfriend's 2000 Toyota Corolla (base model)... that's NOT the same But seriously, GOOD LOOKIN' CAR man! Congrats!
