This is destine to fail, You have no money collected, no dyno time reserved with Ron, You have no firm date set with Jorge and we are less than a month away. I would suggest starting all over again. Talk to Jorge and check his availiablity in late Feb. and then call Ron and reserve the dyno and then see how many people you can get collecting deposits due no later than a week after the anouncement of the date.

^agreed. There's been little to no communication in this thread.
I didnt even see the first post/payment update until now.
Also, what happens if you cant fill 3 days of dyno time? I assume the per person rate goes up quite a bit since we have to pay to cover the reserved dyno time and Jorge's time. How many people are paid already? What's a ballpark price breakdown if everyone shows? If onlt 5 people show? If only the people that are prepaid now show?
I'm still very interested but need more info than whats being provided here.

^no, I could really use a quality tune asap. Just dont want to throw a car payment towards something that may not happen and that may end up costing twice as much as I'd expected.

wasn't so much talking about you, a person who has no problem getting things done... more the amount of guys that jumped on this at teh start then slowly starting dropping of the ledge... typical mnsubaru

RS Motors huh?! I haven't been there since the Integra was getting tuned. I'll have to stop by and watch a little bit. I'd like to meet Jorge as well, I here about him all the time. It'd be nice to have a face to go with the name.

accept i do have a set date with jorge as well as dyno time reserved at RS. i feel like you guys are kinda pinning this on me for not working. i set this whole thing up and organized it the best i can. its not my fault that people are flaking out. i think i gave people a good amount of time to get ready for this. i guess i'll be e-mailing jorge and telling him this is a no go. as for the people who have sent their deposits, i'll be sending them back. this is kinda lame for all those people who truly wanted to do this. as for all the flakers/handraisers:mad:

Sorry to see this isn't working out as planned.

I can still try and help the serious players out, but the important part is to get a FINAL, CONFIRMED and PAID headcount, that will determine exactly how many days we're working with (it doesn't have to be all 3 days ya know..).

The most important part is that a trigger is pulled here in the next several days. There's airfare to book, and anyone who flies knows that the availability and cost jumps dramatically as your day of departure nears.

So those who are in should be counted, the original post updated, and work with the OP to come up with a proper schedule.

It could be as few as 3 people, to be honest.

Fly in first thing, tune three cars, fly out on the last flight, that's fine if that's what will be convenient for you guys. Obviously, your airfare dollar is stretched farther if there are more people. But work with the OP, and make a decision soon.

Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!

I dunno, I can only imagine your OP is on vacation, seeing how his last login date is the day before Christmas.

It's as much a go as you guys want it to be. Like I've said. I can do as few as three serious people in a day. If we need to do several weekends of just 3 people that's fine as well. It's not like airfare is horrible, it's like $150-$200, so divide it by 3. Obviously, divided by 5 or 15 people it's a lot, lot less. But I'm pretty sure, if you guys are serious enough to have me there in the first place, the extra $40 isn't going to kill you to get me out there for a Saturday morning/afternoon.

Someone would simply need to pick me up at the airport, and drop me off when we're done.

So, in short, I'm always available for you guys, it's just a matter of taking a cohesive step forward.

$200 a head, we can do as few as three in one day, ya'll cover the dyno, ya'll cover the airfare.

Just confirmed that dyno time is reserved for the weekend of the 18th. Didn't discuss rates but the time is available.

Airline tickets are uber cheap, $100 + taxes for the 18th!

I'd be in, cash in hand and ready to go! Can we resurrect this?

OK, I say give the OP a few days after the holidays to see if he can re-organize a touch, if not, then we'll pick up from there and probably do several Sat. sessions. If you guys want to start doing some leg work, find out from Ron if he goes by the hour, etc. If we're going to be doing 3 car Saturday's, then let's get a firm idea of dyno costs.

Airfare will never be more then $200. So you can use that as a safe estimate, get the cost from Ron, know that I charge $200 a head (as has been discussed in this thread), and we can setup a schedule that can get everyone covered over a longer period of time if need be.

Hope everyone as a great New Year!

EDIT: so, if this were a tentative 3 car Sat. We're talking $200 (my cost), $66 in airfare, plus whatever Ron charges you for the 2 hours you'll have slotted for you on the dyno. Yeah, it costs you a touch more since you're paying slightly higher average airfare, but it's still not unreasonable for 2 hours of tuning time. Say Ron gives you $75/hr. for a bulk dyno rate, that's $416 a head. So you're paying about ~$30 more for the tune then the bulk rate would have been. It can only go down from there depending on Ron's rate, or cheaper airfare. Obviously, if that works for you guys for the convenience of an in/out Saturday deal, then there ya go.

Maybe Ronnie S can give us the low down on dyno rates, let's hear it from the man himself. (read: I PM'd him)

OK at this point I have spoken to Jorge and Ron on this and we are going to move on from this thread. It really sucks that this stuff has to go on. I will start a new thread and we will get this done.
