As of late we have been hearing some criticism for presenting a new and exciting bolt on turbo without proven dyno results / technical data. Many members have their own opinions on which turbo is right for which setup so I have started this thread to get an even better idea of who knows what. Challenge yourselves by making your best educated guess on actual whp/wtq for this car tuned @ 25-26psi on our in house dynojet!

Wow some of these numbers baffle me - does anyone have graphs from a similar setup? The closest I can find are blouch 20g-xt's and they're not even @ 400whp....

+1. Not sure how 20G's have evolved over the past 5 years, but I remember about 4 of them on 2.5L blocks hopping on a dyno 5 years ago and even the race gas ones weren't cranking out more than 350. Granted, that was on RS's dyno. But still. Anyone guessing over 450 has their head in the clouds. In fact, if you have a 20G 2.5L on your dyno rollers making 450+, someone needs to adjust their dyno.

Ok, after looking some things up, the 20GXT or whatever it's called, People are crunching out 370's on Mustang dynos. 400 wouldn't be out of the question on a dynojet. I still stand by my "no way over 450" assessment though.

Haha we can not adjust our dyno. Other dyno's allow different sorts of variables to be changed where dynojet #'s are what they are.

Maybe I missed this info but when is this thing hitting the dyno?

I'm not saying you tune yours up or down, all I'm saying is that over the years, I've seen dynojets read higher than mustangdyne. It is what it is, a tuning tool. Without a baseline number, the number means nothing. What does a stock STi make on your dyno?

BTW, I'm really NOT trying to stir any **** here. It's just nice to know what the baseline is that the guesses are based on.

We understand. In this case we do not have any baseline numbers, but there will be a dyno graph comparing the 68HTA vs ours!

68HTA on very similarly modded 2.0L WRX

If this actually runs 25-26 psi, I can see it making 420-430ish WHP. This would all depend on how aggressive the tune is, but I can see being able to squeak another 20 HP or so out of it (over the other 68HTA car) while staying on the conservative side.

    Event: Dyno Testing Results
    Location: MAPerformance / Plymouth, MN
    Car: 2005 STi
    Tuner: Jordan Schreyer
    Dyno Info: Dynojet 424x
    Transmission: 6spd stock gearset
    Peak HP at RPM: 421whp @ 5500rpm
    Peak Torque at RPM: 430wtq @ 4000rpm
    Target Boost: 26psi
    Fuel: E85
    Engine/Power Modifications: Stock Longblock / Stock Valvetrain / Simple bolt on's ie, Intake/Exhaust - Grimmspeed EWG Uppipe - Walbro255 - DW1100 Injectors - Processwest TMIC

Final results are in and we have TWO winners! Although we wanted to stay very conservative on the tune our customer was more than ecstatic after seeing his 90K daily driver put down an impressive 421whp & 430wtq!

After the test drive the owner was even more pleased, the new turbo is producing around 100whp more at redline than his previous 68HTA set up which "fell on its face up top".

    Comparison -

I hope this testing can help clear up any misconceptions of our turbo's being inferior. IMHO there is no better bolt on turbo available for the price.

The two winners who were both only 3 points off (both are members from nasioc) are listed below -

    Gello_Boi @ 418/430
    MRF22@ 422/432

How much is this turbo again?

You sell it as a kit with supporting mods?

The turbo is priced @ 1199.99 shipped. We can certainly build you a package including supporting mods to meet or exceed any goals you have. I would personally recommend grabbing a quote from [email protected] on a complete professional install / dyno tune as well ;)

Are these turbo's both oil and coolant cooled? Love the results. What's the max psi of these turbo's? Also, I see e85 but how are the fuel lines dealing with it? Upgrades to them besides the fuel pump and injector's? Is there a topic already started that answer's these? Sorry if I have posted them in the wrong section... Super interested! Thanks

Do you have a graph from a stock 05 STi??? I know on another dynojet 4wheel dyno my old 04 STi started at 236hp/245tq, is this pretty much in line with your's? That gives people a better idea of the capability I think...

We are actually not selling the 20g turbo's anymore. We are reveamping the Subaru turbos and hopefully will have new ones released this spring. They are going to be similiar to our EVO turbo's. Thanks

    Should be similar to this:

    http://MNSubaru.com/threads/nf-project-11-b.36996/#post-620433

That is the stock VF52 (equivalent power to VF39 or VF48) compared to a similar "20G" turbo (ball bearing, billet wheel), both on E85. It does spool slower than a VF, but makes way more top end power.
