I have American Family, they said 3-5 days though. The car still drives and thats what matters I guess.

Yes, they are saying this could be one of the biggest severe weather outbreaks in years up here. Some pro storm chasers, with high levels of knowledge and experience are really talkin about today. This is the blurb from their website below...:eek4: Historic tornado outbreak expected today! Posted At: June 5, 2008 @ 10:34 AM Posted By: Reed Timmer Related Categories: Tornadoes I have not seen a setup like today in a very long time. A 60-80 knot low-level jet, 3000+ J/kg CAPE across the entire warm sector, and 40 knots of wind shear in the lowest kilometer will create a perfect environment for strong, long-track tornadoes from southern MN south to Northwest Texas. The hodographs look absolutely perfect, rivaling May 4, 8, 2003, when significant tornado outbreaks struck the Great Plains. Not surprisingly, the SPC has issued a high risk across the entire warm sector from MN south to KS, and will likely be extended southward from there. This is a very dangerous situation for the residents within the risk area outlined below. If you are a resident of this area, stay tuned to local media for watches and warnings. We'll have the live streams going strong, and hopefully we'll be working for a successful tornado probe deployment! All who are chasing today be safe and good luck.
they said westside and dime size hail...we should be okay. or at least i hope since i have to drive to maple grove at 4:30... oh crap, just heard loud thunder:eek4:
this stuff is just an appetizer for what is to come tonight. after dark we are supposed to just get ripped up in a bad way. I really hope no one gets hurt. serious situation...especially south of us at the moment. hail is really not cool though. My STi does not have a garage to shelter it. It very well could get messed up tonight.
good website to keep track of where the storm is going, and what it is producing is www.wunderground.com here is an example of what it can do i just updated some of the settings and it shows all the supercells/storm cells lables them, give the direction where they are headed, and says what they are producing for rain and hail and the max diameter of the hail. http://www.wunderground.com/radar/radblast.asp?zoommode=zoom&num=6&delay=15&scale=0.750&noclutter=0&ID=MPX&type=N0R&lat=45.25469971&lon=-93.24047852&label=Anoka,%20MN&showstorms=99&map.x=515&map.y=116¢erx=477¢ery=163&lightning=0&smooth0&showlabels=1&rainsnow=0
looks like the storm front that is over gaylord right now is going to tag us, i have already seen hail warnings for the SW metro so i went out and covered most of my car
get the comforters out and strap them to the car, good thing I just move to a place with a garage. Now it's only a matter of getting it there in time...
they say general storm motions with the system are at 65mph, or a mile a minute. so anything that develops and is heading towards ya will be on your doorstep in a real hurry. this isnt even including the wind from the actual storm, so if you combine the speed it is travelling, with the wind it produces, it can amplify it and cause more damage.
That is a good site...I never usually visit it. I like the arrows. It's gonna be a long night. A lot of that stuff in nebraska and iowa is heading to us, in addition to this other stuff. time to bust out the cameras and make the best of it.
severe tstorm warning for hennepin cty. they say quarter size hail is common with this cell. ahhh...my car. my baby.
man this storm is moving fast... I don't really care if my car gets hit with hail, I'm worried about the 12 new screens I made for the porch at home, if those get shredded I'm gonna be depressed, that was a ton of work. I hope there's no major damage from this storm for anyone...
no sign of hail so far...only 50 more minutes until I can leave work and hopefully be the only one on the road since everyone else probably left work early! Power just went off and back on here at work and it's pitch black out!
yeah we are getting darker and darker, rain is getting colder and heavier here in EP/Chan/Tonka...this sucks
you and me both. whatever. I'm home and the car is in the garage - got pegged by pea sized hail for about a minute as I entered golden valley (car can't get much more dented then it already is lol), seems to have moved on already.
