Having a nice car doesn't mean I want to race you!!!

Ugh, seriously, I made it one day, one stinking day on my new set up (Project Dark Fury) and everybody with rims and a fart pipe wants to race...

No dude in the NEON going tschhh, tschhh, tschhh, I don't want to race you down 35W in rush hour...I'm sure your neon is fast, but you have nothing to prove here, if I wanted to race you I'd see you at the track!! Oh, and if I wanted to our drive you it's not about gunning it on a straight away down the freeway...again, that's what the track is for!

I love the driver of the srt4 that decides to show you his awesomezors bov when your windows down... Pphhssstt in your ear isnt fun lol..

 

I thought about taking the window motors out of my rear doors so I can be fast like an SRT4.

 

If anyone is from SC have you seen the guy with the black srt-4 and when he drives underneath the walkway to SCSU he always has to be in 2nd gear at like 5k and let everyone hear his bov... Wudda douche

 

P.s. when you do race and they lose they are poor losers too. Got a thumbs down and flicked off when I won.. I think the pink made his ego hurt

 

I've only had one person in the last year randomly want to race me^

 

Keep the car looking stock, nobody want's to race you. Add body kits, etc everyone want's to race you. Me like car stock look, Me no racing you

 

I have this happen regularly in the summer with my camaro. As much as I may want to...I just don't. That would be one of the last things I need is getting pulled over for street racing or being responsible for some idiot (maybe myself) getting hurt or worst yet, inflicting harm on someone else.

 

my car looks almost completely stock and i hardly ever get people that try and race but this morning at the lights getting onto 394 from a 100 a slammed talon reved at me a few times.. then when we were both up next, he gives me the 2 fast 2 furious spilner look and peels out and takes off staring at me lol.. must have been the club sticker on the window ... "cool story bro" i know but i thought it was fitting in this thread lol

 

Some jack hole, in a black wrx, was trying to race my wife the other day.

 

thats because 02-04 wrx are cheap enough now that anyone can afford them it really kinda sucks

Why in 3 years since I bought my car has no one has ever wanted to race me? Maybe they don't know what car it is since I debadged it. Not that I would anyways. I would pretend like I'll race them but then watch em take off and get pulled over. I race alone and by myself but only to the posted speed limit. 0-60

As a note for the original topic before I completely de-rail this topic:
I've actually been perplexed at the lack of people trying to race me. In 6 years, I've only had a couple of instances and they were both in the car's "winter-trim" (At the time this meant stock wheels, snow tires, stock wing. Summer-trim had STI wheels and a wing). Also, both times were when I had my girlfriend riding shotgun and my daughter in the back. When the car is all riced-up, no one tries to play. I don't get it.

 

I am actually consistently shocked at the lack of people who want to race. In the summer my group of friends and myself go out driving a bunch, not out looking for races but just out for fun group drives. When we get back we always comment on how few people we see out having fun in their fun cars. That being said I am usually up for a comparison of speed, mostly my feelings don't get hurt if I'm behind.

Wow - this has been a fun thread to read!! My apologies for calling exhaust a "Fart Pipe"...really I meant that towards the idiots out there who slap a muffler on there car and then drive it likes it's faster...it's not, it just so sounds nicer (a matter of opinion for sure) and try to race me because they have a muffler...I know some of those cars have legitimate mods to support the exhaust.

I'm going to install this exhaust soon...


For those of you that no one is trying to race...go buy a Forester, slam it, black it out, and then wait for everyone who thinks they are faster than your "grocery getter" to sail buy you or zoom around you like an annoying gnat...pretty funny, but mostly annoying and not cool. I don't care if you are faster than my wagon or not, you win the danger race, go right ahead...I know how fast I can be if I want to be!!

And wait, SRT4's are scientifically proven to be fastest car EVAR?! WHAAAA?

Not sure how many of you live in the st Louis park to new hope/robbinsdale area but I've seen a eclipse a few times now racing everything in sight and typically doing about 80-100 everytime I see him going down either direction on 100.. Each time he's almost cause an accident and missed me by about 3 feet... He works at microcenter and is a D BAG. Anyone else seen this tool?
