I am trying to order brake pads right now and it looks like i have two options: One is for models before 06/2002 and others are after 07/2002 one month and there is some kind of a difference? I never new that. Are they really different? here is a link: http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/resu...utoModClar=&brand=&category=Pads&perfcat=perf
http://www.jscspeed.com/wrx/brakes/brakepads.htm heres one. click on 2002 and it should show you what they are suppose to look like. On my car my front take 2003 but the rears take 2002s.
that would be great nuke. But i got nice brand new rear rotors for a very good price and they are stock size. I dont want anything crazy. I already ordered SS lines and i am pretty sure it will be a nice set up with Hawk hps pads Cryo treated slotted rotors and a good brand new break fluid.
you should support the local guys. call diversified cryogenics in burnsville. (frozen rotors) get your MNSubaru discount
I have nothing but good things to say about DivCryo. Even when the Audi Rotor demon (Seriously, if you own an Audi get the part numbers off the rotors and call DivCryo. Audi changes rotors/pad configurations much more often than anyone else) struck they fixed the problem as quickly as possible. And the deal I got on my rotors and pads for the Legacy with the club discount was fantastic.
Around how much it will cost me for front sloted, vented and cryo treated rotors plus front and back hps pads?
I did my whole setup with Hawk HP+ for <$400. Your's (without the rear rotors) should be around $300. Go to their site and plug in what you need. Get the total and subtract 15%. That should get you a good ballpark figure.
EtchyLives, you're talking about hp+ for wrx, right? Cause if its for SS, I want to know where did you manage to find those?
I have a build date of 7/02 on my car. Mine take the 02 pads all the way around. I have had several sets sent/bought that do not fit. It boils down to the tab size on the front. If possible pull one out and take a look.
No. For the SS. Giggle giggle. I swapped my calipers to an RS setup so I could get the pads I needed. The RS Calipers and brackets still fit under 15" wheels and use the D721 FMSI pad (same as the 02 WRX). Now I have almost limitless pad options. Hooray! Taras, go down to DivCryo and ask them if they'll still do the club deal. It's technically over but they let me get mine after the deadline. It can't hurt to ask.
I only really drove them last Friday and Saturday. They lock up pretty easily so make sure you've got ABS. You can still modulate the pedal pretty easily, though. I like them. They are not as near as noisy as I'd anticipated.
