so what's the damage for the extra parts? also for food, i'd rather go alone unless everyone decides on group pizza

I think with 10 people coming (est) $5 a peice will be more than enough for pizza and some pop

I can pick up a bunch of $5 pizza's at Little Ceasars by FS (right on my way), although they may be cold by the time I get all the way down there.

I'm thinking about arriving at ~7:00 pm, in order to miss the worst of traffic. LMK.

The fuse holders were like 2.50 each and the fuses i dunno, like under half a buck each... I'll do the math later.

Does anyone need wire? I have a couple dozen feet but can pick up some more when I go grab a few more fuses/holders later today.

Yeah, I think you want to use both relays with two fuses. I think the fuse should blow way before the relay melts down, so a 30amp fuse (to run 2 sets) on a 30 amp relay is probably a bad idea.

Here's a quick rundown of what I will bring.
    8 fuse holders (2.50 each)
    20 amp fuses (2.00 for 3)
3 mini fuse holders (3.00 each)
    20 amp mini fuses (2.00 for 3)

Ill use 2 so that's enough for 9 people.

Also bought $15 in 14gauge butt connectors, snap connectors, bullet connectors, and vampire clips.

Nathan do you have a lot of 14 gauge wire? I probably don't have enough for everyone but can go pick up some more.

Does someone have a good heatgun for heatshrink tubing? That would speed things up a bit compared to shrinking it with the solder gun. Also a good crimp pliers (ratcheting kind)? I just have the cheap kind, but they work. And maybe a powerful solder gun or mini butane torch. My solder gun isn't hot enough to solder 12ga, and it's kinda slow on 14ga.

Honestly not sure what guage it is... I have a mixed setup.... got one of those deals from harbour freight with a small stand etc... have some heat shrink but it is larger so may not shrink down as good...

14 gauge should be ok. 12 or 10 would be better considering the relay is a 30amp

Back home finally. Anyway, sorry we couldn't get everyone's done tonight. We just didn't have enough tools/organization and I wanted to finish and do a nice job on the cars I started on. But I hope people learned enough to figure it out and finish up.

Luke, how are your ears? And Nathan, have you stopped laughing yet? :)

Also, I realized I forgot to pitch in for the pizza, how much do I owe and who do I pay?

How big of wire and how much will I need for the install?

    How many male/female connectors?

14 ga wire, I used 12ga for the battery connection. about 15 feet, menards sells 20 foot packs, 20 wasn't enough to do two cars.

1 male and 8 female connectors, might as well have a few extras
3 or 4 ring terminals, depends how you ground the horns
1 fuse holder with 12 ga wire.
    1 fuse
    2 3/8ths bolts,nuts,washers
    heatshrink
    zip ties

This tutorial is pretty good, too.

I did this install tonight. Man, those horns are loud!! Thanks again Joel for helping, I learned a lot of the stuff I put to use tonight!

The only thing I did wrong was mounting the horns. It works well if you know that you're going to ground them on the mounting bolts. You can make up your horn grounds first, and mount the ring terminals on the mounting bolts, and then mount the horns.

Otherwise, it's really not that hard. Also, this image of the wiring setup is a little easier to read then the instructions that come with the horns.
