I have volenteered to be tazered before, but overall I am afraid of electicity, so Id love to meet up at nathans and learn how this electronics stuff is done. id like to eventualy install another car power port or 3 and maybe even understand a bit more on sound systems and all that. So yeah, when are wiring gurus gonna show up at nathans for a big horn install day? im hoping to have my shift knob soon too, yippe
Just a suggestion for all you that want to do a group install - buying the wire and female disconnects together might save you some cash. Same with the heat shrink, zip ties, etc. Basically, someone should buy the install materials in bulk and you could all pay them $5 or $10 at the group install.
*Together these suckers are heavy bastard* 3 lbs. x 25 ea. = 75lbs...F**K'in UPS delivery left the huge box outside my front door the whole day and it was INSURED AND REQUIRED A SIGNATURE! I should just report it stolen *Azzez* Anyways had to vent a bit hea...
Nice! But I don't see any feet in the pic... tsk tsk... Can't wait to install these... You're planning to be at firestone on friday, right?
Alright guys...WHOSE go'in to be at Firestone Friday Night? I will also collect $$$ when you pick it up there...For the ones that paid first u are covered (Paid in FULL) on first post. Members that can't make it you can also pick up from me on Saturday @ White Bear Subaru... Note: To the members that didn't pay for it...I will give you until end of next week to pay 06/22, if not it will be added to another list (2nd chance buyers) Once paid we can arrange how u r wanting to pick it up...I'll be glad to hold until your ready (of course within reasons, don't expect me to hold it for years) I will need all payment cleared by 06/22 if you plan on getting these on the "LA Crosse Cruise" If I don't go someone will have these to give out to the members that paid in full...=)
Agreed. Whoever steps up to do the electrical work should get all the supplies they need ahead of time, and roll it into the cost of doing the install. Do we have anyone lined up yet ? We're running out of time before the cruise. Stuart.
Ray... Bill.... I know you two are on your way down with a jar of KY... but we aint talking about that....
anyone from teh southside wanna grab mine when they go to FS??? I dont make it out there and would love to install them before next saturday...
Nathan has offered his shop for an install night I think, but I haven't seen anything about a time yet... I would be interested in getting some supplies and coming down to help. But I think the only time I'd have this weekend is saturday night.
Sounds like Nathan has offered his shop for a night install with all 8 bays, but he wants some people to volunteer for doing the wiring and teaching people. thats what has been lacking, which im one of the people that need to learn. Maybe something will pan out ofter people pick them up tonight.
Not to mention drilling in the proper spots so as not to pierce the bonnet release cable. That'd be bad. Stuart.
Are they already paid for? I'll be there, but getting down to see you in Shack-of-pee is the real issue!
yeah they are... I have to check the wifes schedule and make sure she isnt working that friday night before the cruise.. so we could do an install evening...
Drilling? I just ran mine along the bonnet release sheath and zip tied every 8 inches or so. The bonnet cable runs past the radiator on the driver's side and comes out really close to the battery which is where you want to be. I'd be happy to help on the install but I am only available sunday-thursday nights.
Actually, the drilling isn't for the cables, it's for the brackets to hold the horns up behind the grill. Stuart.
anybody else coming down to firestone...sofar only 4 said they will...ANYONE ELSE??? I will ONLY BRING THE AMOUNT NECESSARY...
wifey works till 8:30 on friday.. but I will check to see whos got our kids (her sister I think) so we should be ok to go.. will try to remember tomorrow morning and let everyone know if its on for an install evening before the trip... cant be too late though as i have to load up 3 kids in the morning to make the start of the cruise...
We really need someone/s<<haha with some experience to step up and volunteer in helping out with the install! Anybody? ...Please
I've got experience with using google and scoobymods.com . My only wiring experience is doing my gauges, which only required splices...
Perhaps we should start a new thread begging for help, since this thread may only be read by those few who got in on the group buy. The person/s we need may be reading something in Off Topic right now, completely oblivious to our plight. Stuart.
Ok, so I'm going to install mine sometime this weekend, not sure when. I just can't offer to do a group horn install at my house because what's the first thing people do after installing horns? My neighbors wouldn't appreciate that.. I'm not a wiring guru or anything, but I've done enough 12v and 120v work that I'm not afraid of doing it. So, if Nathan is able to host an install night at his shop, I'll do my best to make it down there and help people out.
ok, I'm probably gonna head out in a few. feeling kind of lazy so if i don't go to an atm will a check be fine?
