so i am stacking up parts for my hybrid build and thinking of 3 different turbos for my build , evo 3 big 16g, or vf 52 or hta 68, thoughts or recommendations welcome

car , 05 auto trans. wrx , it will have a hybrid motor with the heads chambered out , arp head bolts and forged pistons, probably a trans cooler , 750-850cc inj. , and walbro pump

keep in mind auto trans , daily driver , and looking for only 275-ish hp, and the wife only wants a NEW turbo put on , the cost for these are really close , leaning towards the vf.....but its the highest cost , thanks for any insight

I had a 2.o with a hta68, DW850, E, FMIC and was pushing right around those numbers if not a little more. It was a great set up. It would be great to have that set up on a 2.5, IMHO... Nuke did all my tuning with that set up. I was one happy customer!

Something else to consider is lag, I'm not sure how bad it is on the 5speed auto. But you should definitely take it in to consideration.

^ thanks, i just went ahead and ordered a vf48 , proven to perform from what i have read

*also thinking of getting fiveo injectors , 850cc should be enough even if i go to e85 in the future right?

I am running 816cc injectors, and when burning e85 the car makes 375+ awhp.

What are the power limits of the auto trans? I would think the tq converter wouldnt hold up to the 270/280 hp and the high tq a hybrid build produces.

^ i heard from dipp that a stock trans wont hold much over 375 whp , so i plan on just running a trans cooler and not tuning for max power now , but maxed out a vf wont be close to that

So have you done the VB upgrade and TC up grades yet?? With this new turbo, next thing I would be looking into is getting the valve body upgraded so it can better handle the extra power. And since it is the auto, I wouldn't have even thought about another turbo until the TC was swapped out for the higher stall converter.

^ i agree , but....i wasnt going to risk reusing the tdo4 or going to pay $400 + to rebuild it (spun bearing), for now it will be driven by my wife who doesnt really get into boost (about 1/2 throttle she says) , so a trans cooler and hopes is what i will have for now , those upgrades or a full ipt trans in the future
