ok, here's the scoop, my girl's impreza's tailight died last nite. i checked the fuse and changed the bulb, but i got nottin. plus, the front corner lamp died too, i also changed those bulbs. help, she's commuting in the morning and working at nite.
Checked "all" fuses? Kick panel fuses and engine bay fuses. If you put in new fuses and bulbs and it didn't work I suggest get a fuse/electric tester for the wires that goes to the dead bulb. May be short somewhere. thats the only thing I can think of it now.
So the tail light died. Of the 3-4-5 different bulbs in there, what one(s) don't work?? Parking light?? Brake light?? Backup light?? All of them??? Your lights will not be fused per light. Meaning, 1 light and 1 fuse. The fuse will cover the circuit. So if the parking light is out on the 1 housing, but the rest of the parking lights work, it is not a fuse, it is something with either the wire going to that housing or with the housing/bulb itself. Russ I am not crabby, bitchy, or mad. And you forgot your PM last time I helped out.....
the parking light is the one thats dead. i believe that the parking and brake light share the same bulb, but somehow the brake light still lit when the brake paddle is being step on. ???? the front corner lamp is also dead too. like i said, i checked all the fuse and replace all the bulb. imma double check the fuse again. any info will greatly help. thanks. plus im getting frustrated over this.......
loose ground? Are you testing for power with a tester in the trouble spots? If yes, what are you finding?
But ALL the parking lights share the same circuit. So none of his parking lights should be on. He is just missing the parking light at the rear. I would check both wires the feed the bulb. Check them both to ground with the switch off, then with the switch on, then check for actual voltage. Check it at the bulb holder and at the wire before the bulb holder. I have seen more than 1 bulb holder die. Power was on the wire but just didn't make it through the molding of the bulb holder. Russ
i found the problem. i took it to WB subaru and they say its the parking switch on the steering column. something is wrong with the wire there. its gonna cost me over $600. i said, screw that. so im asking if anyone will help me with it. plz lmk, thanks
cool, lmk. im not sure if its the switch it self or the wires there, but lmk if u do find it aight. thanks
not one, not two, but THREE!!!! okay, so I think that I have three, two are Legacy's, and one is unknown. This give me a chance to take one apart.
