    Hi guys,
I am in the st cloud area and was wondering if anyone would be able to help me out with finishing up my STi build. I could pay you for your services, but I am a bit confused on a few things and was hoping someone out there with some experience could come by and give me a hand in dropping in the motor and getting some of the hoses/wiring, etc. done. I need the car finished by Monday! Thanks!

What exactly does your "build" consist of?

Long story short, I rebuilt the block that I didn't take apart. The block is all done and together, but I converted to top feed injectors so I have a few questions about that, and just some of the other vac lines and things that I don't know where they are ran.

Haha, guess ill be that guy first. Couple things to realize here:

    a. most members are from the cities...bit of a drive for some to swing up for the night or something.
    b. you are being ridiculously vague on your questions and problems

Me too, fella. And it is people like you that make it suck. You make a vague request asking for "help with your build." and the only explaination for "build" is that you somehow rebuilt your block but did it without taking it apart and that you don't know how topfeed injectors work. And you are expecting everyone's spider sense to tingle when you post this thread, because they definitely didn't sit by the computer waiting for you to post it on Independence Day weekend. I get 6 days off a year, I'm not going to spend one of them sitting around waiting for you to explain what it is you need done. And I'm not going to drive out to St. Cloud from the east side of the twin cities to find out. And back to the point about how YOU make this site suck, it's your "everyone owes me something" attitude. And it isn't just this site that suffers from it, it's people in general. And it is that very same attitude that makes me not want to help people with non car-related things. Nobody here owes you ****. Next time you need help, ask nicely, and give people more warning than posting on a Saturday during a holiday weekend.

He said exactly what he needed help with.

-Needs a hand dropping an engine into the car
-Needs help with the hoses/wiring connected to the engine
-Has some questions about topfeed injectors
-Has some questions about where some of the vacuum lines are run to.

Is it too hard to just give someone an actual answer?

He didn't want an answer, he wanted someone to drive out to St. Cloud to help him do it. "Hoses and vaccum lines"... what kind of top feed injectors, do you have new rails, do those rails require new lines, do you have the materials for the new lines, are they steel braided, do you have the tools to clamp those. I'm looking at this, like most do, as reality typically dictates in an "engine build." You don't call up on a Saturday and expect it to be done by Monday. I did mine in a weekend, but I had 2 certified dealership technicians and another spare set of hands helping out, along with a tuner handy. And they all had over a week's notice that it was going to happen.

Nobody got a chance to provide an actual answer before the OP decided he hated everyone. That said, I don't think "too hard" has anything to do with the responses chucker received.

But then again I'm full of noobsauce myself. Maybe this kind of behavior is perfectly acceptable here and I simply haven't been around long enough to figure it out.

    R. E. A. D.

I'll spell it out one more time. If you clowns can't figure out why this isn't a question, then I'll lock the thread and we'll move along. The OP did NOT ask a question, he asked people to help him finish his motor "build" by driving out to his house to help him do it. But then provided little to no information on what his build was. And he wanted everyone to do this with one day's notice over a holiday weekend. And he lives in St. Cloud, whereas a majority of the people on here with knowledge enough to assemble a built motor STi with altered fuel rails live here in the Twin Cities area, making this nearly an hour's drive or more depending on holiday traffic on the 4th of July.

And just this one time only, because I know there will be those of you with large foreheads that wish to continue to push the issue about this "question" that was supposedly asked. If you can tell me what the question was that was asked...I personally will answer it. I did all the work on my own car, and feel that as someone that has been in the Subaru game for 7 years now, that I can answer pretty much any question that is thrown at me. So please, enlighten me, what was the question, so that I may answer it.

And my favorite part of all of this is how after you boneheads fail "Reading Comprehension 101" you spout off your self-rightous diatribe about personal indignation at the hands of the community. Don't blame the community because you can't read and understand basic english and sentence structure. Just because a majority of the forum users would rather have spent the 4th of July holiday with their families at home, doesn't mean we are mean spirited jackwits. I asked the OP to provide more information about this job he wanted done, because if I myself intended to help, I needed to know how much time to budget for the job. "come help me with my engine build" to me means "I have never done this before and my project is likely in some sort of disarray that will take days to unravel, so my expectations of Monday morning are quite high, so expect to be here all day long on your weekend off." So naturally, I wanted more information before I dove on that grenade. To the OP, sorry things didn't work out your way. Maybe in the future you will provide people with more than a day's lead time on a holiday weekend to come help you. To everyone with watery eyes, get bent, and stop with the righteous indignation and sobbing.

No, read what I just wrote about people getting all asshurt because they don't read or understand what is being said and then flying off the handle about it. That is what is par for the course here, and that is why this place appears to suck so badly.

    GTFO with your facebook nonsense

Jason, I think Surly was agreeing with you... but yeah, OP fail.

Anyway, now I'm curious what this build consists of, what is installed, and what needs to be buttoned up still. I might be in the area this weekend and am willing to help, depending on what needs to be done and what tools are available.

If he was, then I apologize for the snark. But my huge reply there wasn't directed at him, it was directed at the community as a whole and the problem that makes this place a teeth gritting daily visit.

FP Red, APS DR 725 FMIC, 74mm CAI, E85, 1260cc's, built motor. The car went in for some warranty work to replace the stock turbo, car was stage 2 at the time, they didn't warranty it but they found low compression in cyl #4. They tore the car apart to find the culprit, which was a broken ring land, and he towed the car home to save money that they wanted to put the car back together. Soooo, he had the car back home, decided to upgrade some things, and now he is kind of stuck as far as where some vacuum lines need to be run, I know he had issues with his power steering lines (not sure if those are resolved), he wasn't sure about where the fuel lines needed to be routed, and a little bit of wiring too I believe. Again, he didn't take everything apart, that's why he wasn't sure how it went back together.

Congrats MNSubaru! You replied just as I would expect from you. Everytime someone asks for any help on this site they either get ridiculed or completely ignored, which is the reason I HATE this site. 90% of you feel like your **** does not stink and you have to down talk everyone else on here who is not one of the "in crowd."

I haven't posted much on here because I am a believer of research and finding my own answers before just asking for help, so readymix, to your comment on how I feel everyone owes me something, **** off, I offered to pay for assistance and only came here as a last resort when I couldn't find answers elsewhere.

As far as being vague I will admit I am guilty, but only because I would rather not go out on an open forum and tell everyone everything thats in my car. It has been broken into twice before and **** got stolen. If someone would have genuinely showed interest I would have PM'd them details.

I also asked for someone in the St Cloud area, it's not like I begged and pleaded for someone to please "drop everything and drive an hour and a half to come help my completely ****ed build"

What really is the problem with this site is that most everyone in MN who owns a Subaru is a self rightous asshole who thinks they are some sort of elitist just because they drive a Subaru.

Anyway I don't need anyones help anymore either, I got it under control.....douchebags

if they're still the stock vacuum lines, they're pretty much pre bent and usually goes to where it's suppose to.

And again, you come on to the site Saturday afternoon at 2pm. You ask for help and expect it done Monday. It is a holiday weekend. Google analytics says that less than 400 people visited the site on Saturday (normal weekend is 700+, normal weekday is 1500+). Then you come back all ranting and raving that this site sucks?? I can tell you that pretty much all weekend there was less than 10 users online at any time..

If you want to sling ****, you best be expecting it back. You have 16 posts and 4 of them are in this thread. Nobody even knows who the hell you are.

Also, since you hate it here so much, you just say the word and I will delete your user account.

Before you get knocked off your high-n-mighty horse, just going to point out that this whole thread-diatribe business was kicked off by your post below, which to me shows an obvious overinflated sense of entitlement.

I am pretty sure that you're wrong on almost all of these points. I won't be banning you, but I will be closing this thread. I suggest choosing carefully how you wish to speak to those who are willing to help you in the future.

Glad you got the problems fixed, and that some people here were able to help you out, but this "everyone here sucks and doesn't do **** for the community, blah blah blah, I hate it here" is not the type of attitude we want users to have. And if you, or anyone else has that attitude, might i suggest finding another site?

HA. Oh man, so much stupid here. So, you ask for people to come help you at 2pm on Saturday during a holiday weekend, and one of the slowest days of the year for MNSubaru user visits. Then you post up that we all suck because we didn't come help you. And we're the ones that are being self absorbed douchebags. Here's a tidbit for you, I don't give a **** that I own a Subaru, in fact, I say about twice a week that I want to sell it and get something else. An actual sports car perhaps. Or maybe no car at all. Regardless, you not getting help during Independence Day weekend has nothing to do with being in the "in crowd" because I can certainly guarantee you that I wouldn't have gone to anyone's house this weekend to work on cars for a day. Especially since I didn't know what your project entailed. Not that I'm in the in crowd. Or that I care about social hierarchies anyway. But whatever. You've made your stupid point. Since we have a reputation for being unfriendly and mean and dickholes, feel free to go back to whatever site you call home and cry to them. And let me know what site that is, because I want to know what sites to avoid going to for fear of having to listen to sobbing, self absorbed cry babies, since apparently they allow and encourage that at whatever site you frequent.
