    -Hey everyone.
    -I drive an 02 Impreza 2.5RS with the 4EAT
    -It is all stock
-I've been noticing this "CHHHH"(sounds kinda like a BOV) noise coming from the engine area. It tend to happen when I rev it or when I take off.
-I haven't done anything to the engine area since I've owned the car (1.5 months).
Not sure if it is something to be overly concerned with but would like to know. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does it sound like it is coming from any particular area? Maybe have someone rev it while you look with the hood open...

Is the ac on when it makes this sound? Sounds either like the stock exhaust leak sort of sound that ALL n/a subarus have, or the ac compressor kicking on and off. Come to firestone tonight and I can give a listen.

It sounded kind of like the belts slipping to me, ac compressor kicking back on? Try it with ac and defrost off.

I think it might be the AC compressor. It doesn't make the sound when the ac is off as far as I've noticed. Would that mean that it is getting worn out and may need replacing? BTW, you have a PM good sir :)

Check your belt tension first. Maybe your belts are worn or loose.
