It's not easy... haha. But i've done a roof skin before and a few other clips so as long as I put everything back together she'll be ready in no time.
Well after finally getting around to cutting here are the quarters removed/placed. Glad I measured twice would have only had about 1/4in of play to deal with if I used my first line!... Should be done by the end of the month and hopefully up at dyno days.
This appears to be getting worse before it's getting better... At least you have a cool BPV to play with now
She just needs a little TLC. Double or nothing with my dads buddy on when it will be done. Thick cut steak if I lose... Already drilled out the hole so it would fit my stud... haha.
i see lots of work. atleast u are measuring twice. might want to try 3 times if the first 2 are off, heh
Haha looks like you have/had a project on your hands. I almost did a rear clip for my car. So if anyone is going to buy FMS TMIC. Don't bother listening to the interwebz of how people drill and tap out the BPV threads. Just stud them. You will save yourself some headaches. I stripped one of mine out...twice. Then tried jimmy rigging it. Well all three failed. So here is my Bnuts custom mod. $1.09 and a little electrical tape. Can't even see it when facing the motor or off to the side.
Negative. That was my first thought is if I **** up I'll just nut it. But it threads right into a weld... But sometime in the near future I will or have someone weld the whole again and I will just start over. I didn't want to make it look janky...
Gold Flake. Painted the alternator cover and that one pumps cover. Then I realized that the intake was different so I painted that too...
Thank you. You can't really see it, because my phone sucks, but that top cross pillar is basically bondo.
My camera lens is getting worse... But there is 9 clamps on that wheel well. Gotta love glue. Edit: Better picture, better angle, more clamps. 12 clamps.
Sorry for the late updates. Here she is! I also bought some whiteline sway bars from member on here. They are in the process of being painted. Also installed my CNT racing exhaust..
Straighten my front passenger side frame rail while you're at it? Needs to be moved over about an inch on the front horn. lol
She has coolant in it! Small tick on the passenger side, I think it's the injectors since it hasn't moved for month... Just waiting on a sunroof and she'll be road worthy.
Incredible work! I am sure it's had its tough points, but looks like all the work, time, and effort has paid off! Congrats!
So I picked the title of my build as the White Filly, because my girlfriend loves horses. SOO that is a quick reasoning for that. But moving on. So I received some money, doesn't matter how, to start my build. I've been planning the build since winter. It started out with me needing about 10g+ for this build, I didn't get that much. But from this point on I will be updating it as much as I can. SO LETS START! Side note: My write up's probably won't be as great as Xlubens or many others in the forums... I decided I should do a battery relocation. Thought it clean up the engine bay for maybe the intercooler piping or whatever I want! So basically I took out the trunk cover and start measuring. I went off of this battery relocation. Once I bought a marine box I set it on the rear rail that goes through the trunk. Realized I needed to keep the box from swaying left to right. So my co-worker found a junk of plate he had used as a stand at one time. It FIT LIKE A GLOVE. I modified the plate to be bolted down to the rail of the car. Ran the wire under the seat and along with the rest of the wire on the lower rocker and here is what I have. This is what it looked like with everything out. Basically the plate bolts to the body of the car, battery tie down bolts to the plate, and it is easy as that. Also has the spare tire in too. Here is with everything in and the box just chilling.
When NF installed my BPV on my fms tmic, they had to apply a ton of pressure on it while tightening it, seems to be good so far. but if it goes boom i think studs will be the next option
I should have left the original threads and put a double sided stud in it. But it was to late for that... ha. I thought I had them listed but I shall do it now!
