Well, someone "updated" the code for the site, and I can no longer see the search button, nor new posts, nor any of that stuff above there. (I blame Firefox again) Anyway. I'm installing my ApexCone HIDs soon, and I want to know how big of a hole i need to drill in my caps. Does anyone know, or have an assortment of larger drill bits that I could borrow for a few minutes? FYI--- 2007 WRX H7 low bulbs 55w ApexCone ballasts
I used my dremal and a small bit. The whole should be a touch bigger then a nickel. at least thats how I did the install on movin_metals legacy
Wanna give me a hand with that sometime? You got a heater, or we could use the underground parking at my place.
There's enough overlap on the gaskets that that would work fine too. I think 3/4" was the smallest possible hole to fit the connectors through. I know that pulling the gasket through was a very tight fit, but I figured that way it would be less likely to ever leak.
I could use a hand with the set I got any body wanna help? Sorry not trying to hijack this thread, just need help.
Ya, if I had to do it again I probably would have done a smaller hole. Both my headlights have condensation in them now. Im going to take them apart and black them out and seal them up real good.
Geez... first they don't work, now they have condensation? I'm thinking twice about installing mine. :ugh:
http://pimpmyauto.com/Legacys/H7 HID kit install.htm is a solid install walkthrough for them. it is technically for a legacy but I would think the info would be beneficial to you as well.
Yours is very similar. They're really not hard - I just wanted to know what size drill, otherwise its very self-explanatory.
Just thought it would be helpful. Figured a lot of the steps were similar and setup was similar as well. Found it when I was searching for my car.
Yah but I am a R-tard when it comes to electrical stuff and I really dont want to go in there pulling on things that I am not certain of.
this must be for the fogs huh?? cause Bill installed my H4 HIDs at the races and they were plug and play
on the back of some of the headlights they have a plastic cover that goes over everything and covers all the wiring. ours does not have it but I know box's legacy had them. I dont recall what bulb his car takes but I know it is different then ours.
Read the first post, fool!! lol H7s. Also - No need for Dremel, I have a step-bit that goes to 3/4" borrowed now.
I believe 5/16" shank. LEMME GET MINE INSTALLED FIRST, JEEZ!!! Its best to get the kit in your hands, then its much easier to figure out. The simplest I can put it into words is: Plug balast to where bulb is supposed to go, then balast plugs into new HID bulb. Basically its just adding a bit of wire and a balast in between your stock harness and the new bulb.
Ok. Its just that I have had the kit since before Xmas and I still haven't got it in the car yet. I want HID's! My stock light SUCK!
Any one know where the DRL is on a 04 wrx, I dont see what the guys directions has for the legacy in my car?
It's a big white connector beneith the glove box. if your flexable, you don't have to remove anything to disconnect it. http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/showpost.php?p=10007&postcount=2
My CNLights for my 07 Wagon req'd ~1" orifice in the stock light cap. The inside the engine bay DRL delete failed after the car "learned" around it. I need to do the pin removal under/behind the glovebox but large men and Impreza footwells pair poorly.
