mine completly flaked out on saturday. neither of them would light at first when I went to leave my parents. I eventually got the passanger side one to fire. drove to a napa bought standard bulbs and pulled the HID's right in the parking lot. I have an email into them to see what I can do about it. so we will see how their customer service is...

so maybe if I get the DDM ones it may be better ;)

this will be why I will keep my standard bulbs in the glove box

Which ones did you get again? I had one time when the passenger light didnt fire up, but I turned them off then back on right away and it fired right up.

the apexcone ones. small ballasts. that was what was happening with mine at first. moved my wires on that side and then it started working great. the driverside then stopped turning on. now they are on my dinning room table.

i have had my DDM ones for quite some time now, and they are in an extremely abusive situation and they have yet to show a sign of any issue at all

What has been shown in several cases, is that the stock Subaru wiring isn't up to the inrush current the igniters need to provide consistent operation. The problem will more than likely be fixed by wiring up a heavier gauge harness switched via a relay.

I just talked to them. They have two or three options. One is that you can up the Fuse by 5 amps. That will provide a little more current. Or two there is an inline relay HID kit that they sell on their website. The harness turns on the relay and the HIDs pull power from the battery. I'm thinking that might be the best way to go. And last, they have another ECU error code eliminator. Some ECUs can detect the type of bulb. They shut them down if they aren't what the ECU expects.

Sounds like a bunch of BS. But like they say, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. I ordered some like two weeks ago and I haven't gotten them yet nor have they shipped them but I really hope I don't run into these kind of problems.

It's not BS. It's the truth. These are universal kits and are aftermarket. If you wanted a car with HIDs, you'd spend more. The car was not designed with them in mind. Hence there are options to make them work... such as the inline harness that draws power from the battery. You can't make more power flow down the wires to the HIDs. Remember, they are drawing more power than the factory ones. Some might not work without the adapters. Deal with it.

As far as the shipment. He said any order in by the last day of 2008 should be shipped by the end of the week. They will be caught up by next week with all shipments. Holidays get in the way of orders. You didn't work on Christmas, why should they?

I did work on christmas.................but yes, I understand. Just figured everything would work fine out of the box. But you do make a good point and thanks for the information on shipping. Didn't mean to hurt your feelings there.

Doesn't hurt my feelings. There is a reason they offer lifetime warranty. They believe in their products. If you choose to use them 'out of the box' and have problems, they have solutions. They need to be contacted first before they are blasted here or anywhere about their quality. This just goes for all vendors. Most of them are good. He was really nice to talk to on the phone. He swapped my order out for the right bulbs and emailed me the confirmation within 2 minutes.

Well I am very glad to hear that they have great customer service. The "sounds like a bunch of BS" comment came from the fact that I have had 7 beers since I got home from work. Just felt like bitching!! Haha. But yes. I have no grounds for complaining and I appreciate your help with the whole shipping information.

ddm is getting on my nerves. i put in an order on the 18th of december ive called twice and both times they said it will be in by the end of the week... that was last week. i called them last night for the third time and asked for a shipping number, they put me on hold and hung up on me twice. i finally got pissed and asked for a tracking number if i didnt get it i want my money back, they finally came forward and said they are shipping it now and that they would call me back in 2 minutes with the tracking number.... never called me back. this was supposed a Christmas present for a friend too. at the time of order i called them to make sure i would get it by christmas they assured me i would, guess not.

they took like 3 weeks to get mine to me. I expect with their prices so low they get a ton of orders and run out of stock often

Check the harness to determine which wire is the positive. Halogen bulbs don't care which wire is + and which is -. HIDs DO care. You may have to reverse the wires by flipping the harness or moving the wires in the clip. I've seen this on Evos before.
