So did your's completley go out or did it just come on randomly? I think I might try this harness next to see if it fixes my problem.

Don't. The lights in the 02/03 WRX are completely unsuitable for HID conversion.

If it has the same projector headlights the 06/07 WRX had, then yes.

I believe that the 06 WRX uses H7 bulbs, so an H7 kit in 4,300K (or 4,500K depending on the vendor). The DDM/ApexCone kits seem to be pretty decent, but I'm not conviced than any one brand is better. They're really all coming out of the same few factories in China.

I have the exact kit you need in my car at the moment. Works great. H7 kit, I've got 55w and full size ballasts. 5k, actually show more like a 4.5k @ 55w. No blue, just white. EXTREMELY happy. I have them aimed down a little more than normal. Adjusted them with a full tank of gas, and a friend in the back seat.

How does everyone like theirs? So far I've been thrilled with mine for the SVX. Warm up quickly, plenty bright, and no problems.

I don't know how I feel about mine and have considered sellig them. I get high beam flashed at least once every time I'm driving at night and I;ve had a couple cops flash their lights at me because they thought I had the brights on... Anyone want to buy mine?

I don't know exactly but I can find out. I got the same ones Bill has.
    They're a High/Low set in my 04 Forester.

    H4 hi and low

I REALLY like the way they light up the road but getting flashed and the attention from da coppers.

That's right. Those are reflector-style headlights, aren't they?
I'm not surprised you get flashed, Subaru reflectors tend to splash like an orca whale with HID's in them.

Yeah, that's why I didn't get them for the Foz. I've got them in the SVX which has projectors. Nice sharp cutoff.

I'm loving my H7 55watters in my car. Never a complaint, never a flashing, never have to cycle them on and off to get them both to fire. Couldn't be happier.

Yikes. I know that's what some of the bugeye owners do. It's pretty irritating.
Matter of fact, the other day I was coming up the highway behind a bugeye that had so much splash I could see it from half a mile behind the car.

Yeah, there are FEW FEW FEW cars that have reflectors that are made for HIDs that I can actually tolerate.

    Retrofitting HIDs should be illegal.....

    ...oh wait. It is.

    True...
True. I don't have an argument, it is illegal.

Wait a second, didn't you just say you retrofit an HID kit into your headlights?

I think mine may even be a bit better than that. I'll try to get pictures tonight.

finally pulled the trigger on the DDM lights. 35w 4500k bulbs (type H1) for the lows and 55w 4500k (type 9005) for the highs. i'm excited to get them and install. All i have to do before i plug and play is disconnect the DRL right?

It sounds like it's for a 04-05, so yes you have to disable DRL's.

Also, hid for the high beams isn't always the greatest idea. *I* prefer to have the high beams be on right away. The hid kits take a few seconds to get up to full brightness, so when you go to flash your high beams, you will not get full brightness and you will have a huge current draw. Usually the kits draw the most current when they are getting up to operating temp, then the current draw falls back down a bit. So just remember, that when you install the high beam kit, they will be slow to react, and it is hard on the ballasts to turn on and off repeatedly.

Hopefully not, but my searching of finding a way to disable the drl's has. on scoobymods, and nasioc they only talk about what you have to do for 02 wrx's. What about my 05 RS? can I just unplug the connection in the engine bay or do I have to pull the glove box and I’ll find a I have to undo connection there.

I've got the one by the fender unplugged, but on yours I think the relay is the thing to do. And yes, it is behind the glove box.

There's writeups for that, do a search for changing the AC filter. Empty the box first, of course. lol Then there's some screws, there will be pictures instructing you how. I know for a fact its on NASIOC.
