I just installed the 55W 5000K DDM slim ballast kit in my 09 Legacy GT and I'm happy with the light output. But there is a large deadzone where I think the wire from the light is blocking the output. I checked twice to see if it the bulb was properly seated and it is. Any ideas from you guys or are these just crappy bulbs?

well I dont have an article.. but seeing I worked in a Ford dealership and my buddy who is a Senior Master Technician specializing in Diesel Engines and Transmissions, and is the main wiring guru for them.. He is told/demanded by Ford to NEVER solder connections on installs...

    1. More prone to corrosion
    2. Joint/wire becomes weaker next to solder

Ive had mine for about 2 yrs... NO ISSUES.. no solder ;)

not sure what needed to be soldered on the HID install? all the kits I have put in have been very plug and play, and i bet I have installed 10 kits now.

The spot has slowly changed color and now is barely noticeable. I think it just needed to burn in and now I don't even notice it. So all is well :).

On another side note, these are bright!!! I ran into some fog today and wish I could turn them off and run only fogs.

not sure if the wiring is the same as my car, but I have mine setup independently as I have yellow HID fogs in.
