Okay, I'm not going to buy it, but the Maple Grove home goods has what measures to be approximately a 35 gallon heavy duty stainless stockpot. It's $200. If I was building up my BrewMeister clone it would be perfect. I don't know if you bigger rig guys are interested or not. Sorry, should have took a picture but my 18 month old could have easily stood int it and not been able to see out
Really I could front the money for you if you're interested. Can also stop by and grab a pic on my way home.
I'm not in the position to make that purchase right now, but it's good to know it's out there... See, I would need three of them.
Restaurant Depot has 100 qt pots for $90 oops that was aluminum, don't buy aluminum Steel pots are here
Aren't those aluminum though? $200 form Home Goods isn't bad if they have the thick layered bottom. But still as Ted said, need three of them. And my still unbuilt 16 gallon conical would need to be replaced with an even larger one
weird i thoght if i searched craiglist for "paul is not as awesome as ted" i'd get more than two results and why isn't fishpoo a search term for those posts?
which one? fishpoo? i don't get any results for that one Also, this thread has seemed to converge on a 3-way conversation ... just an observation
who's this new guy with the outback pictar? I'm going to try to haul my gear to Lucid on Saturday morning and take part of the "big brew day" there. You guys interested? Free grain and they're providing pre-heated strike water.
wow really? i still only do extract and the occasional partial mash. how are they going to handle cooling?
throw your crap into your car just in case someone doesn't show. People always flake out on crap like this. If you want, we can throw some more water into the grain bed, run that off into your kettle, add 3lbs of extract and you can use my HLT burner for a boil. heck, all you may need is a kettle, a carboy (or pail) and some extract to bump up your sugarz. here's what I'll be bringing. Stand Carboys hops mash paddle sanitizer pail extension cord hose reel canopy bungs for top of carboys stainless spoon cooler and ice pitcher nylon bag towels lighter spray bottle mill drill a freaking chair milk crate piece of plywood for a table
ok i'm in - still going to decide about brewing or not what grain is going to be in the mash tun? and do I bring yeast or wait to pitch until i get home? you going to try to be there right at 830?
We'll take this to E-mail. I got a Blonde recipe - and I'll bring some more 2 row, some specialty grain that you can steep (I think I have some in my fridge) and a bunch of hops. I'm going to pitch at home. Yeah, my plan is to be there between 8:15-8:30
well almost a week later and the brew is still going at a steady pace - glad i put the carboy inside a tub to catch the escaping mess
Does anybody want some free pre-milled specialty malt? I have 30+ lbs each of Black, Chocolate and Dextrin malts from Pauls Malting, a British maltster. PM me.
It was milled for a group brew for the AHA Big Brew Day on 5-4-2013. I didn't do the milling so I don't know for 100%, but 1 or 2 days before I'm sure.
Nice meeting you Aaron and thanks for the malt! Hoping to brew something with it this coming weekend.
Okay I know that the Tardis is why this was posted on the net, but that's not exactly what I think is funny...
well picked up a kegerator on CL - time to modify it some so it'll fit my kegs disassembled / before pic building the collar and gluing the collar on with epoxy
Kegerator mods are done and the thing has been running for a bit. Never cycles off so I'm assuming the previous owner had it hooked up with a temp controller. I'll be building one this weekend.
Well done! Get a thermometer in there and see what temp its cooling to. May not be necessary to hook a temp controller to it. Unless of course its turning the kegs to ice
