I'M KEEPING MY SUBARU, no worries, lol.

I KNOW we have a few guys around here who know honda's like the back of their hands, and then we have guys around here who know a little (or a lot) about EVERY type of car, so I'm relying on y'all, because this one is beyond me.

I've got a Sergeant in my platoon who owns an '02 civic LX. He hit a MASSIVE pothole the other day going around 30mph with his front drivers side wheel. He now has a light clicking sound coming from his steering wheel when he spins it as if to go into a parking spot. It clicks 4-5 times for a 90 degree turn (sounds like a chevy truck does). I looked underneath and nothing is bent. No tie rod out of wack, no bent CA arms, the axles and boots are good, etc. It is NOT effecting performance of his car aside from the noise, but I'm concerned about steering rack giving out when he's on the highway or something of the sort.

    Thoughts?

Is there any resistance during the clicking? Like does the wheel fight back at all during the clicks?

    both directions, no resistance.

He's a really big guy though, so he might just not notice any resistance.

yeah, it doesnt matter which direction he turns. Clicks either way, about 4-5 soft clicks. The sound kind of like a blinker.

I meant, do you hear the click come from the left side of the car or the right? I suspect axle and/or strut.

A tie rod can be bent without being visible. ihad an inner bent and it ate up my tires in 1500 miles.

Clicking repeatedly tells me that CV joint might be bad. The boot doesn't have to be torn for that to happen. I tore up two Autozone axles in 6 months and there was nothing visible from the outside. What is odd is that it does it in both directions.

Does the clucking happen when he is turning the wheel, or when the wheel is already turned and the car is moving?
