So seeing as ralliespec and j-spec are out of bugeye sti scoops till dec/jan Ill have to look at other options. I thought I had seen some where you can put a 04-05 scoop on an 02-03, only extra parts you would need is a different splitter? Someone correct me if im wrong.

You're wrong. The footprint on the hood is different between the body types. There are aftermarket hood scoops available that look like the 04/05, but fit to an 02/03 hood (I used to have one by MRT).

I agree with you. Personally, I would also wait until a JDM one becomes available. My car came with a "Tsunami" scoop (though I always called it a baby-eater) when I bought it and it never really fit the look of the car's design. I eventually replaced it with a JDM STI scoop instead and haven't looked back. Either way, good luck in finding what you need. From what I understand it's getting harder to get JDM bugeye parts here.

well I might have to wait only reason I was buying one was to go with my v7 splitter and sti intercooler if the scoop isnt necessary for the splitter ill save my money for the moment.

I don't think the V7 STI splitter will fit under the WRX scoop. The intercooler will still fit, but you'll be forced to wait on the splitter until you have a bigger scoop.
