LOL, I know. Hard parts I'm at about $23k, but add up all the little things like hoses, various other hardware and what not and that ends up being another grand of two.

I'm in class and I have a list made already at home.

This! Two Subies = too much $$! I'd rather not think about it. This way I can keep spending w/out feeling guilty! Aric and I spend more then enough to have at least paid his loan off!

Between the downpayment and parts, I could have payed off the STI... no regrets tho since the journey so far has been invaluable.

I made a list too and the part that surprised me was maintenance (amsoil synthetic 5-6 times a year, Blackstone used oil analysis, oil filters), random parts (hoses, connectors, gaskets, clamps, etc...), and tools.

My GF on the other hand made ME a list of things we could have had  washer/drier, new bathroom, 4-season patio, finish the garage, update the kitchen, share a motorcycle, dog, etc... Meh, there are worse things I could have spent my money on!

WOW!!! I just did the math. I think I have counted all of the stuff I have purchased/paid for.

    1995 Impreza LX 180,000 Miles (I bought it at 96,xxx) for $2,500.

Here comes the really shocking part. I included the price of the car, maintenance, parts purchased, labor paid for, ect... I did not include fuel used, insurance/tabs, tools purchased, or parts sold/recouped money. This is just a measure of how much I have shelled for my car.

~$14,500. too depressing to post the true value. I did it in excel. Over the mileage I have accrued it comes to 5.72 Miles / Dollar spent.

Heres the list (it may not be complete). Prices have not been included for various reasons.

Just think if you bought a decent boat and went fishing a lot. $15k for a decent rig plus tackle, bait, gas, etc = mucho denero.

Golfing isn't cheap either. What is a round of 18 at a decent golf course cost? $40-50? After a grand spent on nice clubs and a couple hundred in balls and shoes, you spend a bunch of money on goofy pants. That adds up quickly.

Most hobbies are expensive. Cars get up there quick, especially if you are paying a hotrod shop $150 an hour to do your work.

Oh come on there is more than that, how bout the stand alone that didn't work and the misc parts you have put into it ... not to mention the cost of the turbo kit install.

I stopped keeping detailed track after I passed 20k into the car. I would say with the spare parts around 50k. add in the truck/trailer and racing expenses for last year for another 14k. This is why a GD is not the proper rally car for a budget team. I could have bought 5 pre-built vw's instead lol

My wife asked me the same thing just last week. I mumbled something about not keeping track. There is just under a grand of suspension parts on the workbench in the garage. Before that was the VF39 project...

    Jerk. :mad::laugh:

Over the past few years, I've bought these wheels:
    5zigen fn01r-c
    kosei k1-ts
    enkei rpf-1
    RS 6-spokes
    weds sa-90
    rota g-force
5zigen fn01r-c (again, this time in hyperblack for the woman's car)
    OZ chrono HT
    Forgestar f14

I'm not even gonna try to tally up all the other stuff... but that's what happens when cars are your only hobby . I should get personalized plates that read "yIwork"
