Whether you lean one way or another, it's my believe that being informed trumps all political affiliations. I think we should all strive to learn about whats unfolding around us. If you don't like the sensationalist/leftist/rightist news media that is so prevalent on the 24/7 channels, check out www.reuters.com. It's basically just a news wire that all the other news agencies get their hard data from. I think talking politics is healthy. If you can't talk about it on a web forum full of your peers and fellow americans, where exactly is the proper context for such a discussion? The fact that we all purchased the same branded steal and molded plastic on rubber is less relevant IMO. I still think this forum has a bit too much of a culture of lock-happiness.
^^^Precisely why I don't watch much of the news... Everything we seem to hear and see is how sh1tty our country is and how negative and evil we are to each other! No wonder it seems that our once proud and respected country just gets scoffed at by the rest of the world... ME, I am quite pleased and feel EXTREMELY fortunate to live in the state, country, and culture that I live in! GOD BLESS AMERICA AND ALL OF OUR TROOPS FIGHTING FOR IT!:biggthumpup: As soon as the MSNBCs, CNNs, Fox, (and whatever other news outlets I missed) report the good positive things that are out there with as much frequency as the negative then maybe I'll be more inclined to watch... Good topic... I always enjoy reading and learning what other opinions and ideas are out there!
Please, tell me you are giving points out for being butthurt....PLEASE tell me this is true. I hate talking politics with people, but this is a great way to get a bunch of people banned for my entertainment.
^^^lol!!! Let the heads roll... I can't afford to butthurt anyone... Too much good info and good help on this site!!!
Hear hear! I agree with that 100%. Information (news, current events, global stuff and even car information) is not a right but a privilege that we need to exercise and do some work for. If we took all that was spoon fed to us, we would be no better then fish in an aquarium. Being told when night is, what to eat, and why swimming past a castle every day equals a suitable habitat. If you are so inclined to dislike the news and how local and even national media presents information to you then please find other sources, or do as I did and ask other peers for there opinion. No matter if, there opinion is right or wrong it at least gets your brain active and prolongs the dumbing down of our society. And ignorance of the world we all share does not bring about change but only further lets our world be controlled by political gains that we, by choice, are not aware of. I don’t think that any of us here want to be considered one sided and single faceted. I know the root of this forum is based in Subaru lore and culture but there is more to each one of us then horsepower, that being said I think that any forum can be a place where most any topic can be discussed. If you don’t like it then don’t respond. If you do feel like being a part of it remember to keep your words as a reflection of your ideas and not to turn your opinions into judgmental words slanted towards anyone else, and not to take words that someone uses as a personal attack towards your own structure of beliefs and ideals. I to would like to prevent anyone form betting butthurt. After how the thread started, I almost got nervous that I hit a sore spot in this shared community. When I logged in this morning, I was presently surprised to see responses that we well thought out and honest, while not to mention not pointed or judging one person, but rather acknowledging other opinions and sharing personal views in a direct and non-confrontational manner. I for one am very proud of this forum and all the contributions that each of us brings to the table. We have a huge slice of demographics here, that is valuable. And let’s not forget there is a funny video of big wheels racing. I mean come-on it is big wheels!
no, I just have to hear them complain to me about it. Its pointless and I see it on every forum during n election year, people start to factionalize then it just bleeds over everywhere else. I have a lot of strong political views, and I'm sure you're about as uninterested in hearing them as I am in hearing yours.
