I'd ditch that car altogether, what does a new transmission cost?

Your car doesn't have a rear end. It is frontwheel drive.

Not sure what your motor would fetch, but the tires and wheels will probably only get you what you put into them.

i am not sure if you guys know this, but i still have to pay my parents back for this car which is $1000. I talked to my dad and he said that it had something to do with the final drive gear or something like that.

you gotta figure what your going to put into a new tranny you wont get out of the car when you sell / ditch it.

at some point it stops being worth it to fix the car, and becomes moire effective to put tha money toward anothr car.

i have some of the parts that broke and fell on the ground, it looks like some of the stuff that was on the ground it had cracked, other than a gear and part of a broken shaft.

if a gear or a shaft got out of the transmission case and fell onto the ground then your tranny is uber screwed.

the shaft thing is what keeps the drive shaft connected to the tranny. The guy who has my car said that they (Buick) had a couple of years when they made the cars with a two piece tranny, so i hope that the car has the two piece. So from the sounds of it i wont have my car back for a week if it is a two piece, and if it isnt then i am not sure what will happen.

roflcopters @ GM fwd trannies...i can sense things like this, dog crap > GM.... my fiance' had the same tranny in her 1996 cutlass supreme SL, it did the same thing, the pin for the diff came out, cracked a hole in the tranny, but it was still drivable somehow (tranny fluid spraying everywhere)...you know what its from? all those one wheel burnouts leaving everywhere you go (and dont say you spin both because its just not true) when you spin one tire, the other tire isnt moving as fast, the diff is spinning eleventy times faster then your wheels, pin flies out kaboom.

it WILL go out again, i suggest getting it fixed and selling it before its too late! it is cheaper, but dont put in a used tranny. it would be different if it was a different car.
