I currently have 750cc injectors with a wolboro 255 and am looking to get tunued on e85 now! lol i also have an intake and exhaust. just wondering if anyone who is familiar with open ecu tuning would be willing to do it for me either tonight or some time soon. please let me know. Kevin
no... totally opposite. it is ecentially 105 octane plus it burns a lot cooler so you can bring down intake temps and it changes your powerband and makes good amounts of tourqe!!! very nice! so who wants to tune it?
so what your saying is since im pickin up a walbro255 and bigger injectors anyways i should just get my tune for e85???
You can gain power. E-85 is high octane, for cheap, though you have to run almost 30% more fuel by volume, so dollars per mile is close to premium pump gas. High octane, and higher heat of vaporization (means the fuel cools the cylinder better than gasoline), lets you run more timing, and perhaps a little leaner. Ethanol also produces higher volumes of exhaust gasses, being that it has oxygen built into it (the reason you need to inject more), so even though you're exhaust gas temps might be cooler, turbo spool is equal to, or even better than gasoline. It can start to push the limits of the stock clutch tho. Especially on a 2.5 I've heard. That's all in how you clutch tho. Also more stress on the transmission. Torque kills bugeyes.
I'm not sure but you will have to interest someone into the tune if you want a free tune. You did want a free tune am I correct?
go to rs motors and talk to ron if you want it fast. thats if they have time with the whole remodel going on

Maybe he will grace us with his wisdom about running it, pros and cons. I believe he said that he had to retune for every tank of it, because the blend is always changing. But I don't know for sure, I've never run it.
you dont have to completly re-tune it... you might have to adjust the fuel scaling a bit to compensate for a little different blend. i am very excited to run it, and i wish tom would chime in cuz i wouldnt mind one bit if he was willing to tune it for me, i saw the numbers he made on his car!!! very nice!
Yeah, you don't necessarily have to "re-tune" the car every tank -- you just need to run a perm. mount wideband in the car to keep an eye on your WOT (ie, open loop) AFRs since they will tend to skew away from target after around two tanks. By skewing, I mean you might be off by ~0.2 AFR points. Yes, I'm a bit anal, hahaha. And just as Flatline said, it's just a quick change of the overall injector scalar to bring things back into alignment. To figure out the correct change takes a few simple calculations (break out your maths toolkit). On my car it went something like this -- run a ****load of timing, lean the crap out of it (~12.7:1 gasoline-equivalent afrs), run as much boost as the turbo would allow, and screw around with AVCS. I bet I spent 2 or 3 entire days just working on AVCS alone......if only my car had it on the exhaust cams, I would've probably made an extra 20hp up top. I actually kind of want to switch back to e85 pretty soon since that tune I had was so much better than my regular gas tune I'm running now (ie, I'm too lazy to fix the few things I don't like about my gasoline tune, lolz).
so with that said tom... would you be willing to give me a decent street tune?(i am not looking for a handout, there would be payment involved) i just want a good drivability for now until the summer blend comes out. W_O_T_boy gave me a base map just want to get it cleaned up and drivable for now.
is there anyone that would be willing to do this for me this weekend? turns out rs cant get me in sat, so i dont know when i will be able to....
