Yesterday on my way to work I pulled out at an intersection I'd been waiting at for far too long. Cars were coming so I got into boost and heard a f-ing schrillish scream and code iLL5 came up on my speedo dash area. I pulled off the road, turned off the car for 2 minutes. Then started it back up and it was flasshing iLL5 & iLL6. I had to get to work I was already 40 mins late.
So I nursed it there and didnt go over 2k rpm. It flashed those codes the whole way.

On my way home I nursed it and didnt go over 2k so I wouldnt spool and no code or problems. I'm 99% sure its the turbo.

    Thoughts?

I'm going to be taking it to the stealership thursday. The damn scan will cost $130 if the deem it to be not covored by the warrenty. I also need the loaner car, which will be $42 a day if its again not a warrenty fix.

Any tips or things to mention/ not mention?

I have babied this car and only spooled when passing or getting on the freeway full of tards that wont let me merge.
I told the service rep on the phone I was pretty sure it was the turbo, but did not mention anything about the banjo bolt screens, which I have not touched. This car has been mechanically untouched, I have done nothing to it other then the Hella Horns and tint.

This is a 2005 Legacy GT. I bought it with 17k on the odo and picked up the 100k mi extended warrenty just over a year ago when I bought it. It now has 27k miles.

upon further review I now realise its the illumination switch. 90% sure on that. Will toss some spool into the commute tomorrow for absolute sureness.

Haha, yes, the dreaded ILL6 code. Means your turbo is very ILL and about to die.

    Or not at all.

Quickly roll the illumination switch back and forth from 1 to 6 ten or fifteen times and it'll clear off the corrosion that's making it act up. Problem solved.

Couldnt re enact the screeching noise today. Must have been a cat that crawled up under the hood. Flicked the switch, problem is gone. Cant say I was pooping my pants though.

Are you modded at all? Check the integrity of the TMIC - the end tanks have a tendancy to seperate from the core on our LGTs.
