Has anyone tried to fit a 2 person Fish Trap portable ice house (folded up) in the back of you wagon? I am curious if it will fit. I know that there are numerous wagons and each has slightly different hatch measurements, so I want to know which ones will fit an ice house. Consider this research into a super fast, super fun, super portable ice fishing setup. :coolugh:
My buddy has a Speed3 that he puts his Frabill fish house in no problem. I dont know how much that helps edit: its the sled kind, fold out, two person
That is kind of helpful. That is about the right size fish house, but the wrong make of car ;-) Will it fit in a forester?
I don't know if my fishtrap will fit into the forester, but I doubt it. I had to get a hitch and a basket when I hauled mine around with the WRX. I think it would be too wide either way even with the Forester back seats down. If I have time, I'll pull mine down and try to stuff it into my car tonight. I got hit with a wicked cold yesterday so hopefully I'll feel better by this evening.
^ if you feel up to it, give it a shot. I was looking at the dimensions online (for the forester) and I think it would fit, but to be sure you have to try it. If it does fit you should take a picture ;-)
most guys on the Foreseter site discussing htis say the Forester with rear seats folded and frts in normal position they have between 5'10" - 6ft of length.. the dimensions I found for a 2person hut is 5'01" and the width is (have to go measure) and the ice house is 36 which is 3 ft which may be pushing it sitting flat but if you angled it it may just well fit...
ok inside width is 997mm which is 36.88897 or so inches... between arches.. so I would say it should slide right in -Cargo area dimensions: length (mm): 1,679, front width (mm): 1,224 and width between arches (mm): 937 and only 5'06"length
