u better! and yea u dont need studded tires we have only had a couple people who have EVER had studded tires up there. even with my crap ass allseason on the legacy i had a great time with it. that and getting retarded drunk at night is always a good time.
i'm leaning towards not making it, i have to start spending money on the white car and so on, so i probably will be missing this one
^ HUGE OIL CLOUDS BEHIND THE TEG!!!!!! lol. come on it will be a blast. i might head back on sat night late. i will have to see how hings are going...
yea martin it was real bad for the duluth cruise, to much stop and go driving, it looks horrible when i do that.
when you passed my on the way back from two harbors....I almost gagged. anyway, I'm pretty much for sure on coming up for the day on Saturday. but I got a lot of work to do over spring break, so I won't be staying overnight.
there is definately pleanty of snow this time, looks like the course should have some nice snowbanks so it will be a little more challenging
Just to let everyone know..this event will be more organized. Can we get someone with a stopwatch or two to bring them up? Friday will be practice day, Saturday morning-practice and we'll get a time set up to do actual timed laps. I think before the timed laps begin we will get some nice group photos done. Sunday is a free for all-be sure to make a few last laps before departing! I'm sure everyone learned from last time to respect eachothers property. Just a few extra notes..please don't leave garbage on the lake and please keep the cabins somewhat clean--at least pitch in and do the dishes. We've gotten quite a bit of snow the past few days and it's still coming down--should be a lot of fun!
I can pick up a stopwatch or two and bring them up. The audi even was running 6 stopwatches to do the times, but I don't think we need to get that intense...
Maybe after I get out of school and have some time I will rig up a start and stop timer with sensors. Then you would just push a button and it would sense when you left and when you got back. That would be a fun project and useful. I could do it really cheap too compaired to having to buy something like that. Its good to be an engineer. Maybe for next year.
Yeah, I'm still planning on going. I think I'll bring my xbox and games up too. StatGSR, you still want to borrow those snow tires right?
We havnt gotten much snow so I wont be plowing until Monday, is there a certain way you guys want me to plow? I have been sick at home for the last couple of days, went to the hospital yesterday and they said I have bronchitis, had a fever of 103, blood coming out of my ear and a white blood cell count of 2100, But I hope to be good for the race.
GET WELL SOON!!!! as for plowing i cant think of anything. there was talk of plowing to the inside, but i dont know.
I hope you'll feel better soon. Here's a sketch of my ideas for the track.  If it's not too much work. This way the car doing the timing can see the start and finish lines, and people can get on and off the track safely while timing, the entrance and exit can have higher speed corners, but the idea is to have the cars slowed down before going into the parking area. The layout of the track itself is just for placement, I think just a good combination of high speed and slow speed throughout the track would be fun.
my grandmother died last night, I will be at her funeral next weekend, so I am not going to be able to make it. You guys have some fun for me though, someone has to do the standing donuts I don't do.
Are you going with him/her, bringing your car, or looking for a rid?. I am still a bit up in the air but could give you a ride if need be.
sorry to hear about your grandma. as for ihaveawrx. we will be driving seperate. i am going f0sh0. we are going to try and get some stuff done (KYB AGX, Prodrive Springs, IceVex TMIC, Catback) to his car on thurs and hopefully he is still up for going on friday. he will most likely be bringing urabusvids w/ him. what time are you metro people leaving? any plans for a caravan?
I'm leaving some time friday. Hopefully in the morning, but no plans yet. I open for doing a caravan up there. I did get two stop watches to bring up for doing the timing. I'll grab a notebook or something to write times on. Does anyone have a tow strap to bring up? I'm sure people will get stuck this time. I'm not sure if we'll need cones this time, but it might be nice to have a few up there. Matt, if you're not going up, I can try to pick up some cones from you. Do people have radios, either FRS or CB to bring up so we can try to keep things organized while we're doing the timed runs?
well me and max will probably be leavin duluth around 1ish, and i still got 3 baby cones that arnt totaly destroyed yet haha.
I have class early on friday, so i wont be leaving till atleast late afternoon. most likely i will be leaving at 6ish or so. i am not sure i if i am going to stay sat night or not. I have always have a tow rope in my car, so we are covered there. also my watch has a stop watch feature. and it does lap times assuming i can figure that part out lol. I have a set of 2way walkie talkies which i brought last time. other wise i have a set of cbs, but they arent installed and i have no antenni for them.
^ 35 North.... then i think its 53 west to something and your there. lol sorry i never have memoried how to get there, but its right on the way to international falls. also any of you duluth people know if calavry or chesneys junk yards are open on sunday?
