http://www.amazon.com/Bracketron-UNI-4503SW-Mount-Satellite-Radio/dp/B000BYPLUE/ref=pd_bxgy_e_img_b after buying my car i searched long and hard for a mount to hold my Iphone in my car. all i could really find online were mounts that wouldn't really work if your phone has a case. this seems stupid considering the fact that most everyone with an Iphone has a case on it. when i bought this mount it had the option for some attachments that are supposed to fit your iphone. don't buy these. they are junk. what i did was use the mounts that it came with. you'll see in my pictures what i did. there was an outer piece on the clip that i cut with a knife and then filed down the parts that i cut to smooth things out, you would never know that i doctored this thing up. make sure to leave the piece on that hold the iphone without slipping. you probably don't need it but it doesn't hurt. after i did all this it was still a little tight on my iphone so i boiled the pieces for a couple minutes and bent them to my liking. this mount is awesome. below are pictures of the original mount and what i did to it the bracket that it comes with also has a few options. you'll be able to figure out what works best. there's a part on the bracket that you can bend and break in half. you'll know what i'm talking about, then i just wrapped the metal with electrical tape and wedged it in between my dash and my stereo. it fits perfectly. i think i had to bend it just a little bit to fit it to my car the way i want. it was very simple. my charger is also really awesome, i bought that for 10$ from a friend, i had to hard wire it into my car and it charges my iphone and it also has rca's that plug into my stereo allowing me to listed to pandora through my stereo. and with this cord i don't have to control my iphone through the stereo. i can use the controls on the actual iphone instead which is what i wanted. I couldn't be happier with this mount. it does everything necessary. it holds my phone next to my stereo. it works with the charger plugged in. and i can easily remove my iphone from the mount when somebody calls. this would also work with just about any other phone as well. the bracket is very adjustable.
I tried a bunch of different mounts, some of which were OK, but eneded up with a Speck dash/window mount that includes cases for most iPhone/iPod devices plus universal buttons and a belt clip. I like my Incipio case enough that I used the universal button on that rather than the case it came with. Makes my 3GS a nice dashcam too.
I bought a mount from Best Buy that grips it from the side and sits on the center vent. Works really well and is somewhat adjustable. Only bad part is it's a pain to remove, and I've broken the clip a couple of times getting it off.
