I'm a noob and i've been having clutch problems ive gone thru 3 clutches in 35,000. I own a 07 25i and ive been putting wrx/sti clutches in and they dpnt seem to sound right I dont know if that sounds funny but when i take my foot off the gas it sounds like the flywheel is rattleing sounds almost like a grinding. So i come to you wondering if i can put a 02 rs clutch in, and or if its ok to put the wrx/sti clutches in. I'm sorry if I upset any one with this I just dont know qhere to look any more. Please help me out.
Before we jump to any conclusion why don't we diagnose the problem first. What is your driving style? Do you rest your foot on the clutch? I mean it might not be you because it might be the person who installs the clutch. Give us more info?
I've got some tunning done along crank pulley, altornator pulley, Spec.flywheel fadanzza friction pad act stage 2 fr wrx headers back air filter for the motor
Them i forgot Modern auto installed it. Well they fired that guy who put my last one in cause he was having problems.
I had planed on buying some heads and a shortblock. When my first clutch burnt out i replaced it thinking it would last.
Correct me if I'm wrong in the divisions of this list, your jumble of text is... a jumble. 2007 Impreza 2.5i: -Tuned -Crank pulley -Alternator pulley -...Flywheel(?) -Fidanza friction pad (?) -ACT Stage 2 ... ? -WRX header back ....? -Air filter That being said... WRX headerback? As in... up pipe, turbo(?), downpipe, cat section / midpipe, axleback? Missing the obvious bit, in bold. Nevermind that it (the exhaust pipe diameter) is too big (flows too much at the expense of velocity) and you lose low end, if you're still NA (and given the 120/119, you are) OEM clutches are fine, really. Unless you swap for a turbo motor, or do some insane race gas build, you're not going to be pulling nearly enough torque out of the motor to overwhelm the stock clutch. 3 in 30k though, sounds like driver error or terrible installs... or both.
