Is there a way to immobilize my Sti for a week without wrecking anything, I think I could just unhook the battery cable but I would rather do something less obvious. I am leaving it at my aunts place and their kid has already taken their car on a joy ride. :eek4: . I know I could park it somewhere else but I am leaving it there, long story.

If it's an '05 or newer I think you are safe as long as you take the keys with you. The chip in the key won't let the engine run unless it's close by.

It is a 05, but I have to leave keys with the car. Is the ECU easy to take out.

If you have to leave the keys (I'd imagine so it can be moved if needed) then how are you going to immobilize it? Might as well just take the keys. Does the same thing and doesn't require removing anything.

    Shoot the kid.

Short of that, why not just unbolt one of the wheels and take that with you? Any auto theft device like the club would probably work too, provided you have the key with you. Why do they need you to leave the keys? The car won't be moving with any of these other options, seems like it'd be just as easy to take the keys and not have to do anything.

You could do something subtle like pull the igntition fuse. Or take off the negative terminal, put electrical tape around the battery post and put the cable back on.
Wouldnt be immobilizing it, but may be enough to confuse them if they try to start it.

pop the hood and reach down the driverside next to the intake manifold, pull the "starter magnet" cable, it's just a spade connector. Your car will not start.
