So I got this innovate LC-1 about a month ago from MAP (thanks again!). but I'm having some issues with it. it'll work fine for a few days, and then one day I'll start the car up, and the gauge will read all kinds of randomness.....jumping all over the place without any noticeable correlation to anything. when this happens, if I pull the sensor out of the exhaust (fun times!), and re-calibrate it, it'll work fine again for awhile.

my original thought was a memory wire, but there isn't one. only power source that it gets is the switched one (I just used the power wire for the stock sensor). all grounds are joined together and attached to the same lug, like the instructions say, etc. etc.

    thoughts?

I have had this happen. It was more noticeable when I had it installed the last time w/ the turbo. I think it has to do with an exhaust leak in my case.

Anyway there is an easier way to calibrate the thing besides pulling it all the way out. have the car on. Pin the throttle wide open, and let the car hit almost redline. Right before you reach redline turn the ignition to acc. so the car electrical is still on but the car is not running. While you turn the car off keep the throttle to the floor. This will allow the car to fill the entire motor with air (as the fuel is cut w/ the ignition) and as such the motor (now air pump) will fill the exhuast with clean air making it so you dont have to pull the WB02 every time to recalibrate. so you can just hit the re-cal on the thing and rock and roll. Should only take about 20 seconds.

I have done this numerous times when I have had my LC-1 installed. It takes alittle getting used to but does work. ie. It might take a few tries to get it.

also you might try the innovate forums. They are very helpful over there, and may have a better idea why it is coming un calibrated.

Exhaust leaks are worse when exhaust is cold....

I had the same problem with my LC-1. After several calls and emails with Innovate I ended up sending in back and getting a new one. The replacement unit has functioned flawlessly.
