I'm considering removing the Intake silencer on my 04 Wagon to get a little more spool noise without having to purchase an intake. Anyone have knowledge about the good and bad after doing this? Also, should I take it out completely, modify it by cutting off the tumor leaving the hole open or closed, or just buy a replacement elbow for it? I know there aren't any performance gains, its just for the sound.

I have a snorkus delete elbow on our 03. I can definitely hear spool more audibly. the OEM snorkus allows water and debris to drain, the aftermarket elbow allows it to go into your air box.

Back when I did my delete I made sure I drilled in a drain hole in the elbow.
