Just ordered a Turbo XS "Y" hose, was planning on putting it on next week when I get it but while doing some reading today saw a post (on nasioc, Unabomber's Manifesto, best first mods) saying that on the 04+ WRX's w/o aftermarket E/M it can be a problem as it brings on boost too fast. This is the only post I've seen about this (spent over an hour looking for others, there and here) but the poster seemed knowledgable.

Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks--steve

2004 WRX Wagon, completely stock for now. Power Goals: Cobb 1, hopefully with Grim's P&P ex. mani and X-pipe and UP and guages this January. May go to cobb 2 w/in 6 mos. after that.

The Y-pipe for your intercooler won't need EM. Put it on...don't worry about it. You'll be fine.

The hose shouldn't affect anything. Even if it flows air faster the maf sensor should see it.

If you wanna be really picky, reset the ecu (pull the neg terminal off the battery for a few minutes) then start it and let it idle until it hits operating temp.

Shouldn't need to at all tho.
