Ok, I admit to beating on the starter by turn the car on in gear but now she wont start immediately. Sometimes she will, so I'm wondering if its the battery. Any tips guys ??
Can you describe the symptoms a bit more? By not starting right away, do you mean it doesn't turn over right when you turn the key? Or does it turn over but it has to crank for a while before it starts?
you mean on? If it comes on, but doesnt crank then its the starter. If there is no or weak electric power, then battery.
the better the description you give, the more we can help you..... start by cleaning your contacts, then check your voltage. if jumping the car helps than it's probably the battery....
auto parts store... Go to a checker or the like and have them check your battery for free. They can do it right out in the street...
Contacts are clean but, I did have to mess with them cus my brake light wouldn't turn off one day. I left them disconnected and they haven't been so sung since. This may also be the issue I just wanted to make sure it wasn't the stater.
