ok guys, went to the shop to get my car tuned again yesterday but i couldn't even get to tune the car! we got it up on the dyno and found out that what was causing the timing was the headers are too close to the frame, so it would rub. also one of the hoses was loose so oil was pumping out of the hose and a little bit of the oil spilled out onto my engine.

so then i drove the car home and nuke and i fixed those problems and we've also taken off my fmic pipings for the 4th time.(ssac fmic) we retightened every singe one of the pipes/cuplers. now i started up the car and the car idle very good. then i drove it and did one pull, and the cupler popped off because i guess we forgot to tightened one of them. so i pulled over and retie everything, but now the car would not idle correctly. the rpm jumps up and down, up and down. then we drove home on 94. now we did one last and final pull on 4th gear. all of a sudden at the end of 4th gear, the car would choke like fuel cut at 6500k rpm. then all of a sudden the car just stalled while i was in gear on 94. **** that was crazy so i cranked it and pulled over. forsome reason when i pulled over the car went back on and we were like wtf. so then i drove nuke home and then i just drove the car home staying off boost.

so this morning, i started up to warm my car before i head out to work. the rpm would fluctuate like it did last night. at this point, i'm getting a huge headache after all of this. any help would help out alot guys/gals. as for the mods, here the list on my 04 sti
    -dom3 3" inlet with 8cm
    -pe 850cc injectors
    -ssac fmic

that's all i can think of as of now. so if anyone have any ideas that would help elimante this idle problem would be helpful. thanks

the idling up and down would indicate a vaccume leak, you probably have a hose off just enough to leak, but not enough to blow off. recheck them, use hair spray @ each connection to aid in sealing and ease of sliding on and off. If you dont mind a little bit of gold coloring spray some (not alot!) of permatex copper gasket sealer on each of the couplers, it should seal everything up really well. Allow time for it to dry (dont boost it for a little while)

i'll have to take a look again at the hoses and i've tried the hair spray method and it still pops off. i'll check out the gasket sealer.

didn't you tell me you swap ecu... also... I doubt it was a ecu... (ecu do go bad but not often) try looking at the plugs also... it could be a leak somewhere.... start from square one and do a compression test...

I used a little 3M 75 spray adhesive on all of the couplers...they were popping off of me. They are solid as a rock now.

I would also check all of the other vacuum hoses in the system.
