I should try that sometime (still have never owned an STi, I guess I've owned pretty much all of the other performance impreza variants). I still don't like the WRX/RS LSD for whipping around in.

I've gotta agree with zach. I got out in my '99 rs two days ago and man...I almost decided I wasnt going to sell it, and just get another 5 jobs...heh.

It doesnt take much but a good throttle blip to break loose the brand new ultragrips I've got on it. If you stay on the gas, keeping it under 4500 its probably the most controlled Ive ever felt going sideways. I think drier snow will require a lower gear to start though. The tranni is also the smoothest to shift, while going sideways, and excellerating, of any subi I've driven.

I even found a couple roads to do some S snaps...and man was that car managable. There were times where I really could have used dccd though. Pulling the parking brake was tempting.

I love my Dunlop WinterSport M3's. Had Blizzaks before; these ones grip at least as good as blizzaks but handle so much better... ;-) Pull the hand brake in snow and it's one nice ride...
