Starting shooting at noon will lead to a ~3:00pm meal time based upon previous times. I would prefer starting when Bill's opens (9:00AM IIRC) and getting lunch around noon. But I know that some people dont like the early times ( I am normally one of them, unless its for shooting). There is a Pizza joint across the street, the Eagles Nest / Broadway Pizza or something like that. I also know that it isnt too far of a drive to the Perkins on 55. As for that ringing, Bill's requires that you wear eye protection and hearing protection. If you dont have your own it can be had for $1 ea at the range during check in.
Update as far as my schedule for January. I have Jan 4, 17, 18, 31 and Feb 1. weekends available considering the start times you have listed. I know you're doing your best to accommendate everyones schedule, if I can't make it out to this one, I'll be sure to make it out eventually. My work schedule is rotating so some month are better than others. LOL Looks like I'm the only one on the list who has not exercised my 2nd amendment. LOL Hey if anything happens out there I'm going to be standing right behind all you guys. Just make sure you boys don't try anything fishy. LOL
As of right now, it looks like I'll be out of this one unless something comes up and Jess has to work. Otherwise, I'd be down for the 17th as I'll be in training all day on the 10th. Jack, if you want we can probably set up something this week, I'm off Wed, Thurs and Friday. Shoot me a PM and let me know what works for you.
I wont be home until the 1st, and I wouldnt be able to go on the 17th as I've got some stuff going on with church. We could do friday?
Friday would work for me, but I'd be a bit late if we started at 9. I could be there by 10-10:30 or so however.
^that time on Friday would work for me. Although, keep in mind that a weekday meet will cut down on attendance due to people having to work.
Someone should make a decision. Friday or Saturday. I went to walmart and bought them out of .40 ammo. Sadly I am only bringing ~350rnds.
^ I am gonna say Saturday. It looks like the most people can make Saturday work. I think Brian is the only one who cannot make Saturday, sorry Brian, but perhaps we could arrange another event (maybe during the week) that would work out for you. I am always up for getting more range time.
saturday should work for me too. I went on thursday and spent $100. It got addicting. Very nice range. Lets see if the turn out will be big enough. I dont mean to "bail" after organizing this, but if we can find a date later in the month where more people can go, it makes more sense.
I'm out for Saturday most likely, and also for the 10th. I've got training with the dept all day that day. I'm in for the weekend after, I'm free all day on the 17th until about 6 or so. I might be able to do a weeknight or a Sunday shoot however. Jack, if we need to we can set aside a weeknight to go together if I can't make it with the group.
I will be working all night but will do my best to make it on time after a short nap. I should add that snow will be a factor, so if it gets too crazy I'll have to pass again since I have to go back to working the evening grave shift. Thanks again for planning this event.
I'll do my best to be there but work has been crazy lately. Unless I can get a lot done Fri. morning I might not make it.
I cant go. I had surgery on my tailbone a few weeks ago, and it started hurting pretty bad last night. I need to go to the VA and get it checked out. F'ing gayness
All you handraisers missed out on a great time. Between the three people who showed up we had .22lr, .308Win, .40S&W, .45ACP, .450Hornady, and a variety of 12 gauge shells.
We all parked in the underground parking lot. were you the silver STi upstairs? I went through about 160 rounds or so.
Crap. I didn't know you guys were going to be working on it or I'd have stopped by. I was able to make this, and now I have a new toy  Thanks Matt!
maybe someone should try this
You had a decent reason. Better to take care of yourself. You only get one body. Remind me to tell you about my newest toy I'll give you a hint: It's an AR, but it doesn't shoot .223
Those things are insane. I can't imagine shooting the short barreled version. Great backup gun for in bear country, but if you're down to a short revolver then the fit has really hit the shan.
They've got them for rent at Bills, but I think you'd have to be certifiable to want to shoot one for fun. They're kinda spendy, ammo is in the 1.50-2.00 per round range.
