the last three....Russ has better shots or TonyM trying to plow his way through the RallyX..... Had a blast there great time. Thanks all for the help.
I will have my laptop with more...ok photos Tuesday at Calhoun. I might even have my sis who is home for two weeks from Afganastan with me, maybe.
Thanks again to everyone who put together the event. And a big thank you to Dave for letting me run your car to finish the event. I didn't have my best driving day today, but I think I learned a few things. I do think I have to invest in some better rallyx tires...
Tape Crew FTW! Thanks a bunch to Emily, Jesse, and especially Will for the custom "mud-flaps", racing stripes, and numbers!! Most appreciated! And definitely props to Jesse for borrowing me his snows and rims!
if you're really concerned about paint I recommend you go see dave at gearhead graphics and have him rock-blocker your doors (we did this on my rally car and it has actually held up ok through 3 stage rallies. should last forever on the street/rallyx)
Placed 3rd in SA (Stock AWD) out of 7, and about 15th overall out of 30? myself. Not bad for a first-timer, I think. Edit: Just checked the site, and only 24 competitors, so 15th out of 24, I guess?
Rock blocker = ? I'm guessing it's a tough clear coat, like my invisa-bra? What's the price range on that?
yea rock blocker is a very durable clear film. not sure what you're looking at for price - contact dave at gearhead graphics (scooby02 is his username).
How stiff? I thought mine might be getting on the stiff side, now running 350F/250R GC coils on D-Spec struts with the fronts full stiff(barely adequate for the spring rate/chassis mass on the front end), but the ride out there was quite comfy. I have come to find that bump travel > spring stiffness in terms of comfort and off-road functionality. Being low just means you'll always be bouncing off the bump stops, and that does tend to cause traction problems. Tomorrow, er today.
Working on it atm.. Youtube links should be up in awhile. EDIT: The raw video has some nasty wind noise. I'll be getting a noise-cancellation mic if we rally again in the middle of a windstorm. Anyone have suggestions for free video editing software/DVD creation progs? Want to try and stay away from warez if possible... I want to mix some music into the video to mask most of the wind noise. EDIT #2: Started a new thread for the media, if that's cool - http://mnsubaru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33545
I am so not going to wear my orange t-shirt to another RallyCross. Dang cones just couldn't keep from being attracted to my car! They even attacked when Mark was driving, with me riding along and all... Sorry Mark, my bad. Good job laying off the cones Dan. But don't look back, I'm right behind you ready to kick you in the arse at Corcoran. p.s. Dan, I almost had to hold your wife hostage at Little Oscars. She didn't make the clean get away you did from yet another bannering incident. Keep it up and I'm gonna find a way to road points for ZipTie at OFPR, brother
The battlefield: Team Meeting: Pep talk: Pitching a tent (really surprised this didn't blow away): The usual suspects: The other office: Admiration? ...or jealousy...: I've got a couple in car runs too, but I still need to upload them to Youtube.
What's wrong...Banner Chief doesn't like to be bannered...time and time again? :kekekaugh: ...it will never get old.
if you guys need any help in the future, event planing, set up whatever it maybe please let me know. I really really appreciate what everyone does and would be gald to give back in some way. I was planning on volunteering for the namadji 3 event but I will be in Ohio for a family reunion. ( I might even get into an Ohio regional race if my buddy lets me drive his car while I'm there).
