U don't need the spring compressor for the swap, because the prodrive springs heights are a little smaller than the oems that makes it little quite easy to do the job.

But you would need them to remove the OEM springs unless your looking to shoot some struts/top hats across the shop.

You really don't need a spring compressor to remove the stock springs, just a big friend to lean on the tophat while you remove the strut top nut with an impact wrench.

I've installed stock springs that way too, it works pretty well.

you can also use big lock pliers to squeeze a couple coils together to take off the pressure. spring compressors are $10 at harbor freight or you can borrow mine.

what struts are the red prodrives going on and what is the difference between red/blue prodrives? Ride height difference?

I'm currently on blue prodrives on stock struts soon to be KYB AGX with blue prodrives.

EDIT- Guess I should stay on topic here. I used a spring compressor for removing the stock springs. I didn't need the compressor to get the prodrives on or off.

Get spring compressors for the job. They make things easier. You can rent them from Autozone for like $10 bucks or just pay $40 and keep them.
