Werd, work is ghey! One minute you have all the time in the world*your house the other day*, and the next you don't have a spare minute!?! I know you can relate. lol. I did hear from Somethingswrong, and he said he made the cruise from Rochester to 60 and across to 61, said there was going to be a big festival in Red Wing or Lake City or something. Good thing you mentioned the alternate route!

No doubt. RedWing cops are the suck to begin with, but with a festival in town they will be on the lookout for non-locals doing ANYTHING out of the ordinary. Perfect time to get exhaust/tint tickets.

Yeah, plus parades, pedestrian traffic levels, impatient drivers, etc., etc.

Now we get some "curvy" roads anyway.

Also, as you and I discussed last week when you were here, we need to put this out to everyone....

DO NOT SPEED. DO NOT SPEED. one more time.... DO NOT SPEED!
The speed limit on this trip for the caravan down will not exceed 67 mph. For those of you that have never been in a large caravan of same-make cars before, understand this:
Cops see large groups of similar cars and will find any reason to pull the entire caravan over just for the fun of doing so. I know this. I've seen it. The Duluth trippers from last fall will tell you how a highway patrol guy went from car to car to car running the plates as we drove down I35. I've been in 100+ car caravans in California, they will catch wind of teh group and begin following, next thing you know there is a patrol car pulling out in front of the group from a side street and you are boxed. They pull everyone over, you get the 20 questions, your plates or licenses get run. We don't need that attention. Follow the rule, 67mph or less. No freeway fun. HWY 60 is plenty of fun at the speedlimit. Remember, the yellow signs with the arrows telling you that a sharp turn is coming up? Those speeds on those signs are not limits, they are safe suggestions...alot of fun can be had on HWY 60 by simply sticking to the speed limit. If you want to drive down there like an ass and go fast and do pulls on the freeway, then don't go. Think of this like a parade. We are showing the public a brand specific community of enthusiasts. You are ambassadors for MNSubaru. If you drive around like *******s and get teh whole group pulled over, then we are going to be seen as a bunch of idiots. If we roll down there cool and within legal limits and wave and be friendly citizens, then we'll be much better recieved and get more respect from people that see the caravan.

So, Cliffs Notes: 67mph or posted speed limit the entire drive to LaCrosse or don't go.

Shortened for response^^^ ...Plus 111111111111111111 to everything that you posted! Please everyone, read it one more time just for claritys sake!

We want this to be a success. And if the whole group gets pulled over and ticketed for crap laws like tint/exhausts...I don't think that it will be. So keep the reasons for us getting pulled over to a minimum by respecting ALL traffic laws on the cruise PLEASE! I just want it to be a nice day of driving, slobbering over sexy azz cars,......and food and prizes of course!

Well, technically Ray, we aren't going to be travelling through any major or semi-major sized towns on our way now, thanks to Jason's alternative route...South on Hwy 61 will be the worst of the trip, don't think it will be much of a problem though.

Plus a whole bunch of handraisers have spoiled it by reducing the cars to 40 with only 11 days to go! We will hardly be noticed:roll: ...unless the hr's step up and pay up!

call the cops and tell them we will be driving on a different route then what we are taking... we then still drive 'SENSIBLY' and enjoy the drive... with less worry...ha ha ha

Yes I believe that the local sheriff's dept and the area state trooper officer McCarthy (don't ask) will probably be on the lookout for anything. Hopefully we stay far enough from lake city and avoid them altogether.
Also, should we plan on bringing any 2-way radios? Good way to communicate from what I've seen on the fun runs.

so I have a friend who may or may not come and if he does he'll want to eat. Is it ok to pay when we get there (if I can't convince him to prepay)?

FYI coming down hwy 52 to Concord is a clover leaf exit so it's a RIGHT turn to get to Walmart

@Chukee_R - coming from Woodbury continue across the Wakota Bridge and go all the way to 52 and take it south, it would be a long way on Concord with lights to get there....

Oops, I meant could you put directions to the meating location on the first post (and the address). My fault. Say from I-94 or something major like that. Not worried about the route to LaX. That is up to the lead cars and I will just follow.

I think so, my little brother went to school in LAX - he said its not far from downtown? No idea on how to get there
