If you have a lawyer, listen to him. Oh and if you were my client, i wouldn't want you posting this stuff all over the net. If you ahve a lawyer, all communication and interaction between you and the landlord should be through the attorney. And don't call an inspector without at least speaking to your lawyer Now I just glanced over your paragraph, but it sounds like a "constructive eviction" (Basically the property is unsutable to be used as you intended and therefore he illegally evicted you). But really, your lawyer will know better than I about your situation (plus I don't know much about landlord tenant law) Finally, I think from reading this you do ahve a alwyer, if not, MN has some decent resources out there Some info for STP: http://www.stpaul.gov/housing/information/
might be able to do some research and find owner info etc here... http://rrinfo.co.ramsey.mn.us/public/characteristic/index.pasp if it doesnt list the owner info on the owner and property description area, you can look at the past property tax statements and see who they were mailed to.
i also dont think he can legally rent out a place that has a mold issue. mold is very bad for your health. he obviously knew about it because he cut it out. that doesnt totally solve the problem.
and he is known to screw people over. Aperently last year an inspector came to one of his houses and said that it was not sutable for living and made like 7 student move out of the house in 3 days.
