Let's talk about high mileage cars

    To add on to idget's comments...when you're fixing up an older car, you can throw in a brand new motor, but it is not worth much if the body is rusted to crap or crashed up. Therefore it might be worthwhile to look for a subaru south of the "rust belt" - prices should be better too.

    And another thought...prices on 2005-2006 Saab 92x Aero's are dropping like rocks, and they are exactly the same as the WRX wagon of the same year (well mostly). The only things on the Saabaru's that aren't available at subaru are some body parts (head/tail lights, hood, rear hatch, fenders). So just don't get in an accident, and you're good to go! If you do get in an accident, the insurance company won't be able to find parts to fix it, and they will give you a nice check - that's exactly what happened to my last saabaru ;)

    I've not owned a car with mileage below 150,000. I have no issues with high-mileage cars. But then again I am a little better at picking up on issues early so I can fix 'em cheaper and myself...
