The LGT is now in the garage for the transformation.

Here is a short phone video of the humble beginnings.

Will be posting as I progress on the project. Wish me luck.

Engine is bad. Got a bunch of parts on the floor. Everything inside the engine will be replaced except the crank. New injectors turbo FMIC full exhaust. Lots of work to do in a short period of time (I hope).

That is the way I got the car. I need to tear in to the engine and find out what went wrong. Thanks for the compliment on the bike. I built that one about 11 years ago, just had to freshen up the top end this year.

Got the yard mowed, so now it's time for fun.

Engine out of the nest. The motor mounts were the new kind that just stay in place without nuts, must be because there were none. The exhaust header was just held on with 2 (yes that is right TWO) nuts only. All of the bell housing bolts were finger tight and the turbo is locked up solid. The turbo was supposedly just rebuilt. He showed me the receipt for the repair. I will have to investigate more and see if the turbo has something jammed in it.

Here is where we are so far. I will keep you all posted. Should I start another dedicated build thread or just keep adding to this one?

Are these two cam pulleys right hand thread? So far I have not been able to budge them.

Who ever worked on this car seriously need to have their silicon license revoked.

The heads were hosed up too. Found a set on Ebay from an 05 STI. Crank, pistons, and rods on order. New oil pan and pick up too. The only thing I will have from the original engine will be the block halves and valve covers.
