Brz was a fun drive. Very tight steering car dives into the corner rear follows it around smoothly. Power does not come on till around 4k. Brakes are very firm. Morries in Brooklyn park is however a interesting dealer. Seemed like sales people and their manager were not on the same page at all.
Well the sales lady that showed me the car i had to wait a half hour of her to even show up even though i was only 10minutes early from when i said i was going to be there. She was accross the road at target...
If you're looking at buying from Morries why would you be working with anyone other than Scott Putnam?
I very well may call him. Reason I didn't in the 1st place is I thought he worked in minnetonka and they didn't have a manual brz there.
Well being I'm ordering one I would guess it would not matter. So when I'm ready to order I will be giving him a call to see what he can do for me.
Ive heard the rumor as well. But Im looking to spend less then 30k and I doubt that they will make a sti model and sell it for that price. Also everything I have read indicated that they will be using the same motor just adjusting timing as well as larger brakes and different suspension setup. All in all really not making the car anything that I couldnt if I wanted to make changes to it once the Warantte is up.
I'm curious what they are gonna price it as. Over 30 is WRX territory, I don't think they wanna cannibalize they're own sales.
Make sure when you talk to Scott you let him know that you are a MNSubaru member and please let him know that his name was recommended to you by the group.
I'm not in to debating but I'm not sure were 19mpg comes into play on a 2.3L turbo FWD light car with a 6 speed. My buddy has one and got 28mpg on a trip to Colorado going almost 80mph. Heck I got 26mpg with my 09' wrx on the same trip.
18/25 according to Mazda. No big surprise that you saw similar results. Taking the lulz out of the EPA rating of 21 combined, 19 doesn't sound too far off the mark for daily use. Of course that's stock, and we all know how that tends to work out...
Yea either way i belive the brz is head and shoulders above the 3 speed in everything but power. On a road course id be willing to bet stock for stock a brz walks all over the speed3.
You made me have to investigate. And no I am not a Mazda fan I just like research. I would take the WRX or a BRZ over the MS3 but this is news. http://www.roadandtrack.com/special-reports/scion-fr-s-tire-transformation
Thanks for the articel. I have read it before this and should have been more specific when I said stock for stock as I do agree for the race track I could see how the stock tires would not perform well on the brz. But for spirited street use they will serve their purpous till I manage to wear them out
How about the Fiesta ST? Should be around $20k... tempting: http://www.ford.com/cars/fiesta/2014/gallery/photos/
This is what happens when I stop sniffing glue. A thousand apologies Sheen, I'm going to go curl up with some Krazy Glue now.
Back to your corner Ford fanboi! It would only be slightly more confusing if they brought the Festiva back.
Coming from a Mustang owner, that hurts. I'm thinking about getting a Fiesta just to put in the trunk of my car in case the Taurus breaks down and I need to go for help or something. Festiva, Fiesta, Focus, Fusion, F150, Flex...I'm seeing a trend here.
I kinda want a new mustang... and by kinda, I mean really. I also kinda (actually kinda, not really kinda) want that fiesta st. Kinda ugly though... now that hurts coming from a Subaru owner lol
The newer Mustangs with the 5.0 are awesome. If we lived outside the snowbelt or I had the money for a second car it'd be right near the top of my list. Actually, if the BRZ is on the list why not look at either a new V6 or slightly used V8 Mustang?
I feel like a redneck for saying this, but the only Ford I want is a 2005 Ford Excursion Diesel Limited pure secks
Similar...the Eddie Bauer is more anal , the pure secks leans towards vaginal with an occasional thumb.
Either way the search is over I've decided to go with the brz. Will be putting my order in middle of next month.
I prefer the first one, unless you're getting the rear diffuser/splitter also...then i say go for it. The derpwagon could sport all 4, at the same time!
