Steering wheel is really stiff while wheels are straight but once I turn the steering wheel about 20-25°it turns fine. Then about 70-75° it gets stiff again. This happens in both directions. The power steering pump has not made any sounds and the fluid looks clean.
    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks, Josh

Have you diagnosed the steering rack yet?

I'm guessing both. I've been dealing with the exact same thing Josh. Same here too with the "no noises, fluid is full and looks clean" situation.

Maybe are cars are paternal twins? Lol

I've been wondering if there is a link connecting the rack to the wheel that could have shifted. One person was telling me about a universal link that could be the problem, but I haven't found any info yet.

I'm having this same issue with my 2005 9-2x. Where do I begin the diagnosis - check the rack? (As if I know how to do that. YouTube)

there is a U-joint that can potentially go bad. In your case for the bugeye the part # is 34170FE020. I have seen where those get some serious play and start to bind, but I also wouldn't rule out a potential bad rack. Hopefully this helps a little.

I'm having similar PS issues. I'm suspecting the o-ring that's on the inlet nozzle of the PS pump. I tried replacing it with a random o-ring I had lying around off an AN fitting, but it was a bit too large. I ordered some 014 ( 5/8" OD x 1/2" ID x 1/16" thick) o-rings off of Amazon...well they come in a pack of 100! It was only $5. Hit me up if anyone needs an o-ring...I have a couple extra! Hopefully that fixes my issue.
