    Hi all,

I am in need of new brake pads for my 2014 Forester XT and wondering what you would recommend. I have used Stoptech before on my old WRX, and enjoyed those.

This car is a DD and not tracked or anything but i would like something that is a little grabbier, and preferably low noise/low dust. If I had to give up one of those wish list items it would be dust.

    Any info/recommendations appreciated!

Just get the StopTech. Best bang for the buck pads out there. If you've had them and liked them, then why change. They don't make noise, but will dust up more than stock. So will anything that is an upgrade.

Well...going with my usual schedule of life...I finally just ordered new brake pads. Went to TireRack.com and searched for pads available, and while the Hawks looked great and had good reviews, the price point on the StopTechs were significantly lower, and as previously stated, I was happy with them before.

They had two new models, one "street" pad, and a "sport" pad. Since this car never sees track time and is just a daily I did decide to go with the street pads (turned out to be a little cheaper that way too). Right before I finished the order on TireRack, and hopped on Amazon and found them for about $20 cheaper so I went that route. They should be here in about two days, and then they will go in!

Curious as to how dusty they are compared to stock (as well as performance) on your newer foz so feel free to review! Hope they work well for ya!

So far, they have been a decent overall brake pad. I have driven both short and long distances with them, and am pleased. They are quite dusty however, and still a bit noisy, especially when starting up/before they are warmed up. I have noticed better stopping and grab though which is nice. For the future, I'd still prefer something with lower dust.

My thoughts on them for the WRX as well. I'll likely stick with low dust on new vehicle as well - don't want to waste so much time cleaning wheels.
