I had an ACT HDSS with Streetlite flywheel installed on my 2010 LGT a couple weeks ago. I did a lot of research before purchasing and went in to it expecting some shuddering on low rpm accel and some odd grinding'ish noises on decel, which is exactly what I got. In the last day or two (500'ish painfully conservative miles after install) it has suddenly become noticeably louder. I'm not SUPER concerned but everything I read before hand made me expect it to get quieter as time passes. It might be related to driving it normally again after babying it for several hundred miles, it's hard to say. I'm hoping to snag someone who is familiar with what's expected out of a LWFW to ride along with me and take a listen. I don't want to go running back to the shop unless I have a real reason to believe something is off. Any takers?
I have the same set-up in my 02 WRX. It is pretty chattery At first I was a little bit concerned that the noise was coming from my freshly rebuilt transmission but 3000 or so miles in everything has started to play much nicer with everything else and the noise level has significantly decreased.
I have the same set-up and mine still has some shudder when leaving a stop in 1st gear, It is definatly smoother than it was at first, but never really had any noise. The clutch definatly lets you know when you F up on a shift, or let the clutch out too fast.
Indeed. I've made myself look the fool a handful of times trying to get started in the last week. The magic rev matching on downshifts is pretty boss though...
