Um yeah...I am going to need you to go ahead and provide some more specific information about what you are talking about, and where you heard it.

doesnt it have to do with heat (from turbo close to block) and oil pump not supplying enough in wrx's? ....could be wrong!....

Other things will bark from oiling issues on a Subaru, namely the rod bearings. I've seen several engines with roasted rod bearings that had mains which were beautiful.

Here are some facts about WRX rod bearings. (which I assume you are talking about because you provided ZERO information, WTG n00b)

People are retards and never check oil levels.
Mobile one evaporates like water, and protects like ****, yet everyone loves it.
Detonation kills rod bearings. (Intakes with bigger than stock ID, = unmetered air = lean = detonation, also MBCs)

There are tons of high mileage WRXs out there, I Have yet to see one with failed rod bearings for zero reason at all.

so when you say mbc, you're talking mbc, untuned, tuned, or both?

If you go with AMSoil. Myself or WRX1 can get it discounted for you on the east side/St Paul side of town. Otherwise someone just posted something about MPLS and the westside of town. Either way there is enough of us on there that get AMSoil at a discounted rate, so you can save a bit of money.

I say AMSoil hands down, but there is a lot of good information in that thread above... so it is worth the read.

Both, no partial throttle boost compensation. Moreso untuned.

It can be done, just gotta know what you're doing.

Untuned, it can be bad for sure, especially the partial throttle boost

Absolutely, but since the wrx is so cheap now, all the "zomg intakes, bovs, MBCs and headers ftw" honda crowd is buying them. Chances of people getting tuned are much less nowadays.
