^^If they carry 93 that would be fantastic, as i have noticed that some BP's out of the cities hardly sell 93!

I think you are confusing the regular autocross with the high-speed autocross. They are two different events. There will be open lapping interspersed with the high-speed runs.

    Saturday:
    Drag Racing: $25
    Drift: $25
    AutoX: $25
    Openg Lapping: $150

    Sunday:
    Drag Racing: $25
    Drift: $25
    AutoX: $25
    Open Lapping+Super AutoX: $150

    I think... :???:

Does the Wisconsin club have two timing systems? Since you would need one doing the "normal" autocross and one for the high-speed. Unless they are going to do all the high-speed runs in the morning then move the system over to the small course?

the open lapping will not be timed.... so the timing equipment will be used for the small autox saturday, and the road course sunday.

Not confused really... just wondering since it IS an autoX, but with more speed, is it still the autoX price or is it not because it's taking place on the track.

Wow a buck fifty for a super duper autox. I am just curious how many would do it, cuz it's no where near what's being advertises.

Well it's starting to sound like two different types of events not one of the same kind.

^ so maybe think of it as $150 for open lapping on Sunday, with breaks along the way to do some timed runs...? It's not $150 just for the timed super-autox.

So the Sunday "small" autox is not timed? Or will it be timed with stopwatches? Does that mean Saturday will be the autox competition day?

sorry, i will make sure to fix it tomorrow when I get to work... there WILL NOT be a parking lot autox on sunday only the timed high speed event on the track. after discussing it with those helping us with the event, we agreed that if people want to do a timed autox they would probably do the event on the road course, and not many people would participate in the parking lot autox. so we have decided to only offer the parking lot autox on saturday.

Road Course pre-registration link was added to the very top of the original post. If you plan on coming please take the time to pre-register, we WILL NOT collect money until you show up at the event. However, this will help us gauge attendance for this event being it is the first year of it. Thanks again! We look forward to seeing anyone out. Please e-mail [email protected] with any questions!

I want to get some feedback from you guys on ideas for Saturday night entertainment for Proving Grounds? BIR is offering a local cover band, but I thought perhaps there may be some better options out there. Please understand our budget for something like this is quite minimal, so please let's be inventive. What kind of ideas do you have?

Can you clear up my confusion on camping? Fri night/Sat night or Sat night/Sun night? I am planning to run on Sat only, trying to figure out if I need to get up at 4am to get there, or if I can show up on Fri eve.

Oh, one more thing...what are the safety requirements for the lapping?

    Thanks!

You will be able to come on for camping on friday night. Safety requirements are just the usual pants, long sleeve shirt, helmet, and then your car will have to pass a simple tech inspection.

I'm thinking about drag racing my LGT wagon, total newb though and have never gone to a drag strip. I see its open from 9am-6pm, do we have to be there by 8am if we're just doing a few runs later in the day? For drag racing do we still need pants and long sleeve shirt or are shorts OK? Any tips or things I should remember to bring?

No you don't have to be there by 8am, tech will run all day. It is all just up to you and how many runs you'd like to get in. Yes you will still needs pants for the drag racing, and a helmet. Other then that I guess I don't have any suggestions. Your camping equipment... :p It will be a good time. I look forward to seeing everyone out there.

BTW I found out that they will open the grounds for camping at 5PM on Friday evening.

I have some other questions that I guess hasn't been ask.

    1. Will we be able to take passengers along or do they have to be registered drivers?

    2. Will a certify driving instructor be able drive along?

Brainerd is beating us up over the Road Course stuff... if you have not pre-registered and plan on running the road course for either or both days please pre-register at the link:
